We have 4 points and Woolwich and Man United next.

Hopefully you'll all be enjoying watching us when we're in the bottom half.

I don't like the it idea of sacking yet another manager but we have to ask ourselves if Ange is cut out for our league with this club. We can't just wait in the hope he gets it right, imagine if we are knocked out by Coventry and league position is low, pressure will build.

No need for sarcasm Col. You're better than that. Enjoy your day.

Agree with the sentiment from thread starter. Looks promising, and I hope there is more to come.

One thing though, this is not an unpopular opinion? Maybe one can get the impression in here, but outside the forum wars my general impression is that most fans are quite satisfied at where we are.

And, even in here, you get a lot of thumbs ups on yoyr post.

There is a very loud minority in here, and probably a few of them are not even fans, and just here to make chaos and unpeace

The people (season ticket holders) I see at every game are generally bored and think we're predictable.

How was he sarcastic? It was a statement of fact. If the next few results are bad, the fans claiming to still be happy are likely lying to themselves.

This account has nearly 200k followers, yet it's quite clear the guy doesn't actually watch us play and there will be Spurs fans who will lap this up.

We absolutely do not rely on dribbling in the build up for a start. And our build up is quite obviously, to anyone watching, our strongest part of our game.

Just making shit up while pretending to be objective. He's an Woolwich fan right?!

Last i checked I replied to Col. Looking at his reply led me to my post.

Either way, You are not any arbiter of truth.
If you're looking for a cunt off, go elsewhere.

Yeh huge Woolwich fan. Him and that AI Notonething are their ‘tacticos’. Not even coaches just randoms who have played a lot of Football manager games. We have our own though the ‘Inverted Fullback’ or some shit.

I think it’s the new ITK grifter thing.

It absolutely sucks to have dropped 5 points and may bite us in the ass. And we have some really tough games after the break.

But…
I think the team is close to breaking out.
Our play has actually been quite good overall imo. Yes, need to convert chances. But we are getting in great positions consistently. No longer are we passing it along the perimeter ad nauseum. We do need our wingers and strikers to get in position for the crosses. And the 3 goals we’ve conceded were daft concentration lapses. But our set pieces - on both ends - look much improved.

So despite the frustration of dropping points we shouldn’t have, I am excited about where the performances can go.
I think this is the view of anyone with sense, I have avoided this forum last few days because some of the comments I read briefly on here post Newcastle were idiotic drivel and couldn't be bothered getting engaged in an argument on a forum. We've been very good every game so far, an inability to finish our chances has cost us and will improve. In the long run I also think it may be a slight blessing in disguise not having to chase the unrealistic standard we set in the opening 10 rounds last season, might help us fly under the radar a bit more.

Anyone using the phrase "I'm slightly falling out of favour with..." in that context is clearly a clueless knob. But he goes on to prove that in his thread anyway. He's also retweeted a load of pro-gooner shit, so he's for sure not spurs. Reading the thread a bit (it's pointless), he really doesn't know what he's talking about. He's just cherry-picked some fuckups and decided they are the norm.

Yes, much better for us to remain Top Half but only just then be top of the league.

I think the game against Newcastle proves to me that VDV is the most important player in our squad.

We just can’t defend counter attacks without him which is a concern.

We can, if Ange tinkers with the system slightly, but I just can’t see him changing it.

He won't change it mate, he needs to but,he thinks it can work in the EPL.
We don't want to lose another manager but, if he can't get results then there is only one outcome.

The only thing I want changed is that I would like to see the end of the one-dimensional, speedy wingers. We were better pre Son, and would be better off having more intelligent, creative, players capable of unlocking tight defenses with how we play atm. We started the fast winger type football to have a chance to beat big teams, when trying to progress under Poch, but simultaneously lost our ability to crush the slightly smaller clubs.

Instead, play Son as our striker. And put e.g. Maddison on the left and Kulu on the right. Have Bergvall in our midfield, with Sarr for his runs into the box. Then we would have threats coming from everywhere, we would be less reliant on space. We would also be better at retaining the ball and be more press resistant.

and that is the problem with this manager, Defence wise he relies on onr mans great pace to save us on nearly every attack, what is that doing to VDV body ?

Will preface this by saying I "understand" your post / frustration, but cant agree on the facts. I doubt any true fan wants to accept mediocrity. Potter had 3 full seasons.

Ange is in round 3 of his second season, and lets not forget one small mitigating factor in that he took over when we lost Kane. We ended up 5th.

He inherited a mess.

It's not a cycle yet, and is far from it. It's barely one season and a couple of transfer windows. He has managed to get rid of so much deadwood, and has delivered some decent talent. The squad, bar Sonny is barely recognisable.

Our first 3 games, based on objective metrics should have us on 9 points. Shite happens. We lose our striker and have our backup injured as well. Let's see where we are in 8 weeks from now. The manager merry go round has achieved zip. Im enjoying us play at the minute. It's been a few years since I could say that.
Love this mate.

I’ve given up having any sort of debate in the match threads as it’s just so dominated my negative posters

But I totally agree with you, we have seen wholesale change since he came in, and I go to the stadium looking forward to seeing us on the front foot and creating chance after chance. I’m convinced the results will come.
