Now this is NOT and anti-Ange thread at all. I genuinely like him and hope things start to click into place.

However, we all know how Levy likes to throw off scrutiny by shuffling the deck with a new manager, so who would be your preference if it comes to that?

My choice would be Graham Potter but that's more to do with the lack of options.

Happy World Cup GIF by Three Lions

It’s impossible to guess as the disorganised, kneejerk decision could veer from an absolute dullard like Allegri (proven winner) to some teenage AI tactico from Japan (cheap and flavour of the month)

I really hope he starts winning some games against non bottom feeder sides soon because the list of available candidates is as grim as fuck.

Tuchel - Boring football, ill suited to our squad, volatile, would start sulking after the first transfer window.
Potter - Mr xG himself. If we dont take our chances now god knows what it would be like under Potter. Brighton and Chelsea both improved after he left. Dont think he could take the pressure, looked lost at Chelsea
Southgate - Just fuck off.
Allegri - His football makes Southgate look like Bielsa.
Conceicao - Complete headcase, tends to assault refs and others, wouldnt last a month.

No other manager in work is leaving their club in October, probably not November so we're pretty much stuffed if things get worse.

Not sure Potter is the way to go, his team had possession but struggled to turn it into goals a bit like ange now.
Better off sticking with what we have I would say.

a manager that actually values balance.

do honestly think we are maybe 2 quality signings away from pushing everyone bar city, and not only are they on a bit of a decline, they hopefully going to get rogered nicely after hearings.

Tough one. We've had the 'winners' and the 'project managers' and never really won anything. Fact is we will never hit that top level with the likes of city, Madrid etc with the current ownership.

However, onto the question itself, I like what iraola is doing with Bournemouth. I think he would be the next manager if Ange was to leave tomorrow, which I wouldn't be too mad at. Iraola coming in that is, I'd be pretty pissed if Ange was fired/left tomorrow.

Just what we need before an important game tomorrow

You have to get the best manager that fits ENIC not the best manager.

High risk high reward manager (Ange/Slot/Kompany/Klopp)

Can’t get one of these because you won’t get the specialist tools to do the job

‘Elite’ manager
(Conte/Jose/Allegri)

Can’t get one of these as you we dont buy proven winners in bulk

Young manager
(Ryan Mason)

Won’t be given time

Genuine Pragmatist
(Harry Redknapp)

Someone who will use whatever he has and will have 4-5 different plans depending on the opposition so will attack when we are strong and defend when we are weak. This football fixes things short term as you can take adavantage of whatever the squad is but questionable you will ever compete long term and grow.

My general take is if we can’t get Ange to work we are basically fucked as that is the style of football with the highest ceiling. The manager market seems terrible so whatever our issues now we will probably end up in a worse state. Club is running out of options in terms of where it goes, at some point we have to pick a direction and stick with it.

If Ange fails I think find a pragmatist and accept 4-10th forever. At that point we will have just given up hence why I want to see this out with Ange over the next 1-2 years.

I’ll settle for Levy not a sacking him at half time .

He should get the whole season unless we are fighting relegation, which we won’t be . Firstly let’s give a manager time as fans , even if Baldy won’t , secondly we are a graveyard for managers so we might as well stick with Ange, cos changing manager will not change our fortunes .
