Based on distance to goal, angle to goal, and other situational factors, an average player would be expected to score from those 6 shots 3%, 6%, 7%, 15%, 7% and 11% of the time respectively, for a combined total of 48% (source: fbref).
He converted one. I think it's unreasonable to expect him to convert two of those. He missed the "easiest" one, but so would 85% of players according to the analytics experts.

Both of Brennan's goals have come from a high turnover and him making an intelligent run, using his rapid pace and then a quick instinctive finish. Maybe he does work in this system and really the plan has always been for him and Sonny to be on the end of those types of chances.
Also, for all the talk of needing 1v1 dribblers, Maddison put on an absolute clinic dribbling players yesterday and in that advanced 8 role that is very much something we can expect to see from Kulusevski too. Maybe if we just keep improving the execution after a high turnover and convert those better, the issues we discuss for our wide players isn't life or death so much because they can get back to being forwards instead of wingers??
