Then why weren't they more ready for it?

City looked utterly ill prepared for their set pieces. I think even we looked better organised than they did. It was almost like Guardiola didnt watch our game a week before. The scum played exactly the same as they did yesterday.
Gabriels goal should never have been allowed, Martinelli clearly fouled (with a lot of help from Saliba)Ederson in an orchestrated move to prevent him from being able to get to the ball, and I am at a complete loss as to why it wasn't seen immediately or reviewed on VAR.

Gabriel got away with a shove on Romero the week before too.

We didn’t moan, we just got on with and Ange says Romero took responsibility for his mistake.

Every team needs to understand that the PL wants to give the gooners that advantage from set pieces so if they score from blatant cheating it’s because you didn’t do enough to stop them cheating.

I actually don’t think it’s that hard to scout. Once everyone has seen their 10 most used set plays, you just need to know who their blockers are and put your own blockers in their way. Also Gabriel is overly physical, need to draw him into being too physical before the ball is kicked and start making a fuss of every touch.

On another note, it's getting pathetic the amount of cock sucking the Arse are getting from the likes of the BBC right now, two featured articles on their front page is talking about how "great" they are or words to that effect.

I can guaran-fucking-tee you that if we'd played the exact same way with the same result there'd be nothing except the likes of "Sloppy Spurs throw away golden opportunity" or "Spurs employ questionable tactics against Man City".

early on in the NLD the orange gooner went after Vicario only to get a hefty shove from Madison

They are cheating.

The plan is clearly that they can get away with cheating because they aren’t even a top 4 Contender without set piece goals but they need them to compete with City, especially with the 115 charges finally happening this year.

Please see exhibit A above. They are getting away with cheating and then getting favourable coverage to control the narratives so it helps ease the pressure on them too.

Just the way it will be this year.

A few pinches or grabbing of him in areas he doesn’t want to be touched would be enough to put him off. Walker tries a few soft touches of him but it’s not enough. You’ve got to fight fire with fire.

Exactly. Best case scenario you can get him booked from a scuffle on one of their first corners. Get your arm hooked under his and force his elbow up into your chin...very hard for him to tread the line after that. Get someone practically in his shirt, stepping on his toes, calling him names. For any basketball players out there, one of the old shool moves is stick your knee in his thigh on his jumping leg early. Once that's a dead leg and stiffens up he will soften up big time.

if they are going to cheat and get away with it, like you said, fight fire with fire.

If they continue with their current tactics their tougher games will actually be other defensive / low block / physical teams

The way Arseteta is allowed to roam the touchline (well beyond the technical area) and physically involve himself with opposition players and the ball is completely unacceptable. There are rules in place that seem to never be enforced when it comes to him and he constantly does his utmost to influence play by exploiting this. Karma would come with a player sliding studs up and going straight through the cheat, leaving him and his vile club with a serious reality check.

It's one rule for the Arse, another for others, it's been that way for years.

They get similar treatment to how Ferguson's Man Utd did in their heyday.

Honestly though, a player "accidentally" running into him would just result in the player being punished, not him.

I think if I was manager I'd be sending an assistant coach to stand outside my technical area and then gradually edge closer to Arteta until he eventually gets booked. Then every time Arteta steps outside his area you have grounds to demand equal treatment.

If they're blocking the keeper, you block the runs of those taking advantage. They showed last night that Gabriel is the one benefitting most, so block his run at the far post, or any other player making that run. If they don't arrive, they don't score.

Lamela would have loved it!
