Match Man Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur | Sunday 29 September | Old Trafford

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Fantastic result, has very much changed the complexion of our season IMO, it's quite funny looking back that a few were talking up United's window and bemoaning the fact we weren't going in for ready made first teamers like Zirkzee or De Ligt, despite 10 years of false dawns in the transfer window for them and ETH being so clearly, woefully out of his depth. Nice to see Johnson and Solanke amongst the goals again, whatever you think about him as a player I do really feel for Johnson for the fucking dogs abuse he gets off certain sections of our fans, hasn't even put up bad numbers at all in his time here but because his style isn't overly flashy and he makes mistakes (natural for any young player) he gets fucking panned and anything good he does is apparently just circumstantial. It's far too early to say if he's peaked, he could become a monster in his mid-late 20s with the right coaching, his speed and anticipation make him a threat out wide and his composure and finishing only stand to improve over time, look at our very own Son for a perfect example of that, put up strong, not spectacular numbers to begin with and aged like a fine wine into the goal monster he was in his prime for us.
Solanke is defo an upgrade on Richy, you can see it plain as day in the build-up. Think I myself was guilty a bit of worrying about him after he was anonymous vs Woolwich, but being fair to the guy he just came back from injury into a home derby against our biggest rivals, and no one else really pulled up any trees in that game either. Something about our rotten luck with buying strikers since Berbatov AND our rotten luck with big money transfers kind of puts me on edge, but he looks to be finding a rhythm now and hopefully will only go from strength to strength. Iraola employs a high press in much the same way as we aim to do most of the time, so stands to reason he could pick up the system fairly quickly, and though he has only had the one prolific goalscoring season, he stands a good chance of replicating that if we can finally find our strongest XI.
Anyone complaining about not signing zirkzee need a hard long look at themselves. Hes brutal.Hoijland the same. Fortune spent on them after not even a half decent season in Italy.

Studs?

Now come on. What are we? VAR?

That's a still frame of an incident. You could make the case that he didn't touch him at all based on that.

I'm not gonna go on about it much more cos quite frankly I couldn't care any less about if the red was the right call or not.

It was but I don't mind if people don't agree.

However, I think we can all agree that it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

:ange-lol:
Okay seeing as you're hell bent that he caught him with his studs, you show me how you got to that conclusion then?
I didn't say he caught him with his studs. I said he 'showed' his studs while slipping so could have caught him with his studs. Something he had no control over.

So it was dangerous and out of control which I believe is the very definition of a red card offence.

Again we're going round in circles though, the reason his studs were up was because he slipped hence why I said the challenge needs context - if he sipped it means that his intention wasn't to catch him with studs, it was merely to stop him progressing.

I cannot fathom why after one of our most dominant wins in recent years people are so desperate to debate if it was a red or not. Was it a red? Maybe not. Do I care? Not one bit. Lets leave United to debate that, I'd rather soak in the win.

“They’re wanting big Ange instead”.
Every single United supporting black sheep of my family. All my United loving mates.
All now saying “We will get Ange in” as if it’s an entitlement.
I fucking loathe them (even family) when they get on this fucking horse.
I’m dining off this thrashing for months.
And laughing at them thinking that Ange would jump ship “because it’s United”
Fuck them all.

Trying to get some reporting and perspective on us this morning is proving hard. You’d think yesterday was Man U vs Man U. What a bunch of entitled self obsessive ####s they are. It’s lovely beating teams like them and the Dippers as it always triggers a global crisis amongst their god awful plastic fan base who can’t cope with the reality of competitive sport. I imagine a lot of their supporters are having to take a mental health day.

Because I'm not a child and try to see things objectively, that's okay isn't it? We're all adults here mate so sometimes we're allowed to have mature discussions.

If the situations were reversed and Maddison went off for that we'd be livid and rightly so.
But you're clearly not seeing it objectively. You've cherry-picked the frame where his misses hitting him with his studs (because he's out of control). It's been explained many times; the ref saw it up close, VAR reviewed it and it's a red. He's out of control and flailing at another player's knee, reckless and deliberately using his out-of-control momentum to foul another player without trying to get the ball. Is it soft? Yes! But it's the rules and he's a complete twat who would have reacted the same if he'd broken Madders knee. He doesn't give a fuck!

And no, I wouldn't be livid, because it's foul play and It's a red. Your ego's just clinging on to anything that might undermine the consensus opinion to salvage some credibility, but give it up, man! For the love of god! Take some pride with you.
