Rangers have been to two Europa League finals in recent years and thats with Champions League teams dropping in. Their last final, they lost on pens to Frankfurt. I'd fancy us in the final against either of those two over who we would likely get in a domestic cup final.

We have to play City (their B team is arguably better than our A team) to get to next round of League.

Give me anyone in the Europa League over Liverpool, Scum, City or Chelsea.

Do you not think it's odd how few teams from the Premier League have won the Ropey league? And those that have were Chelsea and Liverpool?
Since the PL began in 1992, only Liverpool in 00/01 & Chelsea in 12/13 & 18/19 have won it.
in those 23 years, Spanish teams have won it 12 times.

The reason is that they can play stronger 11's on a Thursday and still coast to a win at the weekend. In fact, their leagues often change domestic fixtures to specifically help them put stronger teams out in Europe.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, you'll get a hard days work almost every single fixture not matter who you play.

Ange got a lucky new manager bounce, and after the Chelsea game was found out and it's been inconsistent shite ever since.

when normal luck resumes, then tottenham can pick up some wins against west ham, A to Z and palace, make it 8 wins out of 9 and be back in a satisfactory position about 6th in the league and top of the Europa League

No, what happened was you accused me of have an agenda based on the last game. I replied with a seasons worth of form stats and patiently explained that my view that Ange isn't good enough is actually based on 12months worth of form. The fact that you seemed to have failed at basic reading comprehension is hardly my problem.

I don't think the players can run Ange's press for 90 minutes without stopping, and I don't think it's good enough for Ange to think that a failure to do so is down to the players simply not being "competitive" enough.

Honestly I think a good bit of the dallying around with the ball at the back is the CBs taking time to give the rest of the team a chance to catch their breath and walk upfield at a slow pace. That or the team is actually so tired they can't immediately run into motion and offer immediate outlets to the CBs/GK.

I think Ange needs to be more aggressive with subbing the key pressers in our press, or to adopt a style where he allows the team to sag off the press and employ a temporary mid-low block while they catch their breath and recover a bit. If he's asking to have the most athletic and talented attacking team in the EPL of course we are gonna struggle to provide him with that while having to compete financially against the usual suspects.

I don't really think he's capable of, or willing to change his style though. I'm worried about what this portends for the rest of our season, especially in the league where we are struggling mightily right now.

I'll just butt in, sorry about that.

In my opinion, no team can just press for 90 minutes and then defend perfectly in their own half because they would then have to constantly run like rabbits.

Maybe I'm wrong in my opinion and Tottenham Hotspur doesn't have the wrong manager but rather a lack of players who aren't yet able to switch quickly, super quickly.

If I'm right, just standing up front and pressing opens up large spaces for the opponent? That's why high pressing is good if you have players who can come back quickly and others who can also push forward quickly (on the outside) to counterattack dangerously.

But if I knew that (and if it were true) then Ange and the leading players would certainly know that too. In this respect, I agree with the person who wrote that there is no need to tell players to keep one foot on the ground when shooting at the goal, which means that they have to know what they have to do without holding hands.

Im not sure all teams do.... we haven't conceded a vast amount more goals than most other teams in the league except Liverpool.

Same as City, the same as Chelsea, less than most.

I do think we have been defensively poor at times this season - but for me, the individual mistakes and players not doing their jobs properly is not naive - it certainly is on the manager to sort out but I personally don't think it is a naivety problem

Often this is the case yes. League Cup is generally easier to at least get to the final. Look at 2021 for example, piece of piss run.
