Eze looks a good player, but off the ball he can be guilty of ball watching. Word is that Palace wanted 60+ million and Eze wanted over 200k a week.

Gallagher would have been an interesting signing. We are playing Kulu and Maddison together, and I'm not sure he is any better than those 2. I'd expect had we signed him, Bergvall would have gone out on loan. Personally, I prefer Sarr as the rotation box to box mid.

Solanke has looked good thus far. It may take some time for him to get a striker partnership going with the front 3, but he contributes all over the pitch and is exactly what our system needed - he reminds me a lot of Son.

Ignoring the awful Palace game; we have outplayed every team we have come up against. Stupid lapses in concentration have been punished and we still cannot maintain our system for the full 90 minutes. The squad needs to learn how to adapt when the other team picks up momentum and kill it. It was very clear that Palace were going to score for a good 10 minutes during the game; we were making mistakes and were sloppy. We needed to slow it down, keep the ball, play it safe and kill off any momentum.

Eze and Gallagher walk into our side, so would Neto.

Was eze not just a pivotal part of a 'lesser' team that dismantled us at the weekend?

He'd be starting ahead of madison on this years form.

I like Ange, I can see the improvements in our team. I've seen loads of his Celtic matches & think he will come good if we stick by him & back him.
Levy on the other hand? I'm done with him, he's the teflon chairman. We need a new board, new ideas, new money & quite frankly I don't give a fuck where it comes from now. My 2 sons are 19 & 17 now, they've seen 1 league cup in their lifetimes ffs.I'd like to enjoy some success with them while we can enjoy it together. Time to go Levy, & take your board of yes men & women with you while you're doing it.

Pretty sure I was the only poster on here over the summer that wanted Gallagher to sign for us. Seems to be doing well at AM, but this place was full of “Chavski cunt” during the window.

Eze tried his arse off to do a Roy Of The Rovers against us. Showed himself to be a rather selfish player I thought. Also, if he’s ahead of Maddison on this season’s form, what other matches has he played in for Palace this season that he’s played well and effected the score?

Neto had his third league start of the season at the weekend. Played well. Another one nobody really wanted due to his injury record.

I’m sure there are reasons for us not signing any of these players above “Levy is tight”. But we got beat at the weekend, so this is the expected response I suppose.

Why are you searching out every angle possible to defend this man?

:harrylol:
I am not defending him but it seems the anti Levy brigade consider every bad point as anti Levy. Both those Managers had lost the dressing room and many on here wanted them sacked but when Levy does it they consider it wrong. We lost to Palace who do not spend as much as us and in my opinion the Manager and players were at fault yet by just criticising Levy we let them off. How many of their players would you seriously want at Spurs? Eze possibly. We should have won that match with the team put out.

Levy has his faults but to blame everything on him is wrong and despite recent Investment talk I do not expect him to disappear anytime soon. So let’s keep the criticism realistic.

I wonder which manager will have a honeymoon bounce for the back half of the season clawing us up a few places, giving fans false belief for next season, only to be back here again next winter.

Maybe that's why Mason turned down some job, he can smell it.

I’d not be pinning any hopes on incoming investment, certainly if Amanda Stavely is involved. Have it on very good authority she is not that well regarded with her friends at PIF, as they feel she didn’t give them the full scoop on the financial restrictions of the league. Word spreads fast and I’d expect similar investors to be running a mile from her, not engaging with her.

This is one of the most likely Levy appointments that could happen.
Yep. Look at Utd, they have gone balls out for the best young coach out there despite being in a good job and early in the season. We'll go for whoever is knocking around and cheapish. If we sack Ange during the season and Potter wants it it'll be him because Levy is lazy with this stuff and knows nothing about football. Lange might well want someone else but it wont matter if there is compo involved.

Cheap, available, attacking football, ex Chelsea, spent years doing well with Brightons budget.. so many boxes are ticked I'm tempted to lump on it as we have some tough old games coming up that could definitely end the Ange era.

I think the point is that underinvestment in the football team, in every sense, economic, emotional, physical is systemic, pervasive or all encompassing under his stewardship. No matter the manager or players, the corporate culture comes before the sporting culture. So while individual games can't be pinned on Levy the whole thing pretty much lands on his desk.

The legacy, when the baton eventually passes unfortunately will most likely be only on the business side. He will have been the only ever present. (Other than the fans). I don't think there can be any question over this any longer. Unless he wants/manages to change the culture of the sports team to have the same drive as the corporate machine we will forever be under achieving, or at least certainly not overachieving on the football pitch.

I have for many years given him the benefit of the doubt. But I make no bones about it any longer. Whilst we cannot compete with City, I see no reason why we shouldn't be near equals to the Scum and Liverpool. Both well run football teams with turnover in the same ballpark. Both having won several trophies during the time ENIC have owned us whilst we sit virtually empty handed.

I mean fair play but does it really upset you so much ?

People think of Levy depending on how much they like , loathe or despise him & when you really don’t like anyone or anything , you can join the dots to blame them for anything & they feel justified . You just need to look at Brexit or sToP tHe BoAtS for proof of that

Unfortunately, the new money coming in which will be for a minority stake will be for projects such as the hotel. Levy will still be pulling the strings and the football will always come second behind the increase in the valuation of ENIC.
This is why we have taken out the majority of the high earners and replaced them with young players (investments) on lower wages who may at sometime in the future come good.
In the meantime, the likes of Aston villa and Chelsea are focusing solely on the football and are consequently way ahead of us on the football field.

Yeah nothing will happen until that bald fuck is removed as CEO

He's the CEO, he makes the decisions so the buck ultimately stops with him, just like in any other business.

Of course he's not directly responsible for the Palace defeat. He didnt switch off defensively or make terrible subs. But ultimately our inability to win matches and challenge is on him 100%. If he doesnt appoint the right staff or free up funds for the top players, or stamp a winning culture on the club then again its totally his fault. If in a business the CEO keeps appointing terrible staff surely there comes a point when you cant keep blaming the staff?

I think he's only around 6/1 with the bookies mate. In fact he's the favourite

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/tottenham/next-permanent-manager

Meanwhile, Ange is still a whopping 33/1 with some bookies to be the next manager to go

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/next-manager-to-leave-post

So maybe a handy double at around 200/1 is decent value

Not sure about next manager to be sacked. Ange is probably 2nd or 3rd in that list but I can definitely see us losing our games over the Christmas period with Potter in the dug out.

This isn't a response from the loss, its been a consistent message for a long time.

But I do expect this "nothing to see here" approach from one of the first voters for "ENIC in" within the poll.

Eze would walk into our team, regardless of whether he's displacing madison or not. We all know it.

We haven't bought him for financial reasons. If he was on final year of contract and 20 mill, we'd be all over him. Paul o'keefe is right, the priority right now is to squeeze our expenditure to inflate club value. That benefits the owners, and is a middle finger to fans.
