The Davies midfield tackle leading to Dom's goal was worth the entrance money alone.

Davies is in the Autumn of his career, but I have never once heard him bitch about playing time, wanting a move away or how unlucky he is. He should be at any cost kept on by the club, take his coaching badges and offered a coaching role within the club structure. Would be surprised if Ange hasn't already thought of this?

Let him work his way up.

He has played under:

Poch
Mason
Nuno
Jose
Conte
Ange

He's seen off more managers than Abramovich.

How you treat players after a decade service is important - if you want any loyalty from younger players they'll definitely notice if you disrespect a senior player who has stuck by you.

There are only twenty days a season when the stadium is not used.

I think the club has a big opportunity to employ Davies (if he does not want a coaching role) to become some kind of Ambassador not unlike some of the ex- Spurs pros, after all isn't Ledley the next youngest ex-player club representative?

His dedication and loyalty should be rewarded.

Think people are going a bit OTT with Davies. Yes a decent cameo but doesn't change the fact that we need to upgrade.

We need to be aiming to get to a point where you are not worried if any of your squad are required to start PL games.

We saw what happened when Davies started against Woolwich last season.

I don't think there is a squad place for him next season if Vuskovic is being kept around.

I see he's just been elected to the PFA Players Board

I’d rather trust a proper centre back incoming than some kid who’s played in Belgium for one season at 17. He’s not going to be ready to play centre back in the PL.

On the contrary... That's the perfect scenario to KEEP him around.

...It'd be like what Werner is to Moore right now.

The need to churn that position would be more pressing if Vuskovic ISN'T being kept around next season.

Not initially in the PL but similar to Moore, Bergvall and Gray this season, I expect he will get the cup minutes (especially if we are in the EL again). No way of telling what happens if he impresses there, on paper he looks like being our most promising youngster.

So where does that leave Davies? He would be taking up a squad place and never playing.

His contract expires in the summer so I suspect it is 50/50 as to him staying, unless he has a year's extension like Sonny.
