We need to adapt our style away from home imo
I agree don't even think it needs to be drastic.

two of Bentancur, Bissouma and Saar should always start away.

Have the full backs be more traditional and when they push up, have the no. 6 drop in backline to make a 3 when in possession to negate the counter (think this would really suit Gray)

You can still have the same attacking principles with less moving parts, sometimes it's a case of working smarter, not just harder.

Being away from home in a clearly up for it stadium, misplacing passes and then having to cover huge amounts of ground time and again must have been exhausting both physically and mentally.

Also why did no one think to mark their number 11 at corners, every single corner they just floated the ball to him to fire a shot off at the edge of the area.

How can you be on match threads and ask this? :roflmao:

Watched most of the game last night and was disappointed with players not being able to pass to team mates (I mean, there is a huge difference between orange/red and blue!)

Having said that, I thought Lankshear did well up to the point where he lost it a bit and got sent off for a frustration tackle (I think there was a foul on him that wasn't given in the build up to that 2nd foul), he will learn from it and be a better player for the experience I have no doubt.

Thought there were too many changes to the strongest team we could have put out but then that is also needed, players need to be rotated etc, it was a marked difference once we changed up our midfield.

All in all, disappointed but not the end of the world, think it would have been a different story if we had the pace of Van De Venn available at the back to be able to deal with Ossimeh.

Yep you keep pretending beating Ipswich at home makes us great 😅😅😅. Let's see who's right come crunch time. Let's see if they get all spursy or if they actually do something. Speak to you in Feb 👍

Case in point, you're waiting and seeing if wr lose and given yourself 3 months for it to happen, you're going to be in a permanent state of misery waiting for an outcome you want to happen as opposed to hoping for us to improve.

Is this mental to everyone else or is it just me?

Obviously not a Spurs fan.....clearly not going to take any pleasure if we beat Ipswich on Sunday, like all us Spurs fans will.....🤷‍♂️

I don't understand why you would wait until Feb to either prove a point, or God forbid be proven wrong.

Regardless of any ownership model, gaffer, playing staff I want us to win. What is the end game here ? To have bragging rights when ( as they all do ), a manager leaves ? How is that in any real sense satisfying to you. I'm honestly curious.

It does feel like he, like the other Ange out posters, doesn’t want to see success. They’d rather us lose so they can be ‘proven right’.

It’s pretty pathetic really, which is why I now have most of them on my ignore list. Yiddy about to join ‘em.

The hilarious thing is you're gonna be waiting a while for this to happen, it's kinda pointless acting the bitter little man and hope for an outcome which is to the detriment to the club you support.
It’s ok, I’m used to waiting years for this football club to produce some good moments. I remember when Mourinho was our manager and his fanboys used to spam this forum telling us how it’s not his fault that the team was not getting results but the players, made me also want him out asap. The difference is that now not only Postecoglou’s fans have this cult-like behaviour, but some of the old timers have embraced it too, which is a bit weird because Postecoglou hasn’t done anything of notice to receive that amount of support. "He’s our manager" doesn’t cut it for me.

Fine you may not like the manager but choosing to actively not enjoy what you're watching because of said manager is kinda counter productive to being an actual fan of this football club, don't you think?
I don’t think I’ve said I don’t enjoy our football games, when the match starts I am putting my feelings for the manager aside and try to have some good time watching us play.

Not wanting him is one thing but you and your ilk have made it your entire personality on here to be haters, piping up with the 'I told you so' when we lose excluding all kinds of rationale thought, using every bit of confirmation bias to desperately reach for conclusions that aren't there...isn't that exhausting?
It’s funny because the people who’re so ardent to support Postecoglou for whatever reason they may have, are frequently piping up with the "I told you so" when we’re doing even a little bit fine, don’t you think it’s a sort of counter reaction to that for the other side to do it? And then the other camp are doing it again and so on, it’s a circle that goes on and on and on. I don’t think you can pin that on a group of supporters when you’re doing it yourself.
Madness - I definitely see improvements and tweaks in his approach this season.
Yes I do think we improved compared to last season. But it remains to be seen if it continues and whether it’s enough.

And it’s not personal either, I remember when Mourinho was our manager and his fanboys used to spam this forum telling us how it’s not his fault that the team was not getting results but the players, made me also want him out asap. Based on the no investment policy the ownership have, slow improvements are the best we can hope for. I’m sure the club will make a few new signings again in Jan, that can help with the squad in the second half of the season. If Ange continues to slowly adapt his approach, which I think he will, I’m ok with it.

Hopefully there is something material that happens with the owners at some point but up until then, let’s enjoy the football and hope we can find a way to shore up away from home (I think we can).

You know what’s ironic? If I searched your posts, I’d find more "AnGe OuT" crap coming from you than from me. You know why? Because I never said to sack the manager. I said I don’t like him, I said I don’t think his tactics will work, and unless he’s some cult of personality, I am allowed to fucking say that. But I remember very well the way you used to post, you little shameless cunt. You change your opinion about the manager more frequently than a woman changes her pants. Now you calling people out acting like you are some big Postecoglou supporter? 🤣

Since you put it this way, can’t wait for the end of this fraud’s reign so all you Postecoglou ass kissers can finally fuck themselves off this forum and go "support" another team.
I'm interested to know what it is you don't like about him?

I get that his tactics aren't to everyone's liking, but neither were Contes or Jose's... And yet Ange comes across as an infinitely more likeable PERSON than either of those two megalomaniacs!

I dunno Ange seems the most likeable manager we've had since Jol....

You guys are just a load of parodies of yourselves, I feel a bit of pity for you, honestly.

1. Don't
2. Their toxicity is corrosive to the site, admins would have less to do and the nature of the site would be more amenable if they sacked that list off.

Seems? I'd say it was nailed on. He produces teams that play entertaining and attacking football and with some investments in the playing staff to make us more resilient - and less reliant on Werner standard players, we would be top 3 and beating top 5 teams more often.

The bit I don't understand about those that are anti Ange and anything he or the team does is why they constantly come on and go on about it , I appreciate they are entitled to their opinion , but week in and week out they are here repeating themselves .
I got it the first time , and the second , make your point and move on .
I don't need to be schooled as I'm sure many others don't .
It simply gets boring .
Supporting a club means just that , support them , and not blindly , by all means we are allowed to critique , and debate , but continually bitching about how crap everything is just gets brain numbing and achieves nothing .
Do I think Ange is getting everything right ? no , do I think we are improving with a young team ? yes .
Do I think we will win something with Ange ? possibly , if he can find the consistency that winning something needs , but I think some patience is required . At our best we play some of the best football I have seen in years from anybody , but consistency and patience is needed .
But we now live in the instant noodle society and the one thing that always brings is disappointment .

Forster is a terrible keeper. Notice the second Galatasaray goal:

Through ball gets played. Notice that the Galatasaray player is all alone. Has no passing option.

That means that the keeper in this position should be looking to get forward and close down the angle.

Instead, he does the opposite and he actually even goes backwards opening up the angles.

In this situation a good goalkeeper would be where that yellow mark is.

And then when the striker is about to shoot the ball, he goes even further backwards opening up even more of his net.

Terrible, terrible goalkeeping.

I think he should've been positioned further out even for the first goal.

I don’t find him charismatic and he came across as a twat in some press conferences, but it’s all good because apparently he put the journalists in their places. Also this cult-like following is very annoying but I guess that’s not his fault. However, I still associate it with him.

Win games, let's all praise master tactician Postecoglou. Lose games, it’s the players at fault. And if you dare to say something critical about him, you're quickly labeled as melter or Woolwich fan. Feels like it’s 2020 again.

This is wild to me, if a manager at the football club doesn't deserve support in your eyes, that's one thing but the problem is you go too far the other way and ridicule him and ridicule people who dare and try and get behind him and his project, it's just weird.

You say you put your feelings aside but you don't display it on here, you come across just generally bitter when we win, you honestly sound like a rival fan jumping to all excuses to play down a win and play up a loss..you cannot be enjoying what you're watching if you have an clear agenda and your thought process is always against the manager.

And bore of with this utter crap, woe betide any Tottenham Hotspur fan piping up and being happy when we win on a fucking Tottenham forum, You're always going to get push back because you're on a forum where the vast majority are behind this manager and you're gonna have to hold it seeing as you constantly give it out to people when we lose, you're gonna get it back in spades because people are fucking happy and relieved and 98% of people on this forum are behind him, suck it up.

Love that expression "instant noodle society".

If I ever use it in a best-selling novel I will be sure to credit you. Thing is, at the minute I'm writing about the mid-18th century, the reference might jar a little.

:ange-facepalm:

Give examples of that negativity when we win and how I’m ridiculing others.

What are you trying to say, that I’m not a Tottenham fan?
