Kane also went for £100 million with 1 year left on his contract and is one of the best strikers of the modern day game, No team is replacing him easily , I think Solanke is a good player who will do alright here but we can't keep comparing him to Kane - the £60 million is a lot to do with him being PL Proven and English - I think he ends the season with 15+ PL goals which for his first season would be alright.
It’s the system, it’s Angeball. Inverted fullbacks, inadequate cover out wide means our Centrebacks have to cover the fullbacks. That weakens our defence.

Yeah its not working defensively. First goal yesterday was so typical of all the cheap goals we have given away this year. Udogie OOP for their attack so Dragusin ends up dragged out to left back, they work the cross in, Romero our only centre back in the box half clears it but it falls to Szmodics who is left unmarked. Brennan/ Porro probably could have done more but ultimately you want both your centre backs in the box for them scenarios! Its not working defensively and these mistakes keep happening
Think your harsh on Brennan Johnson here. Do you think a Salah or Vini Jr would be expected to be back covering because the back 4 are all over the place? It doesn't happen because the defenders are in position
We consistently play out from the back, there's never any deviation, other teams know exactly what we're going to do and counter it, Ange doesn't have a plan B. Yesterday at 2-0 down there was no urgency or attempt to get the ball up field quickly just the same languid clueless system with players having no idea how to break through a low block. What are they doing in training at attacking set pieces? how many corners went straight to Muric? From what I've seen the team isn't getting any consistent message on how to defend and defending corners is still a problem. We go into games far to open (especially away) its a kamikaze system that doesn't work in this league. Ange needs a massive rethinkI've always liked Potter but why would he be able to get Romero and Porro et al to defend the box like actual defenders?
None of that applies to todays goals or in the Brighton game though.
We haven't conceded due to our high line or inverted fullbacks since Newcastle.
You seem to be living in last seasons problems. We have an entirely different set this season
dont care about either of them they dont play for spurs. but i doubt salah pussys out of a situation like that and lets a player get a free shot just because he doesnt want to get kicked.
the back 4 are all over the place because of this kamikaze system that has our defence constantly exposed when we lose the ball. so yes, youre right! they probably wouldnt need to be back there in the first place. they would also do far more with the ball in the final 3rd than johnson.

Fullbacks never in position when we get turned over, so centre backs end up covering out wide and then we end up relying on players like brennan johnson to defend a cross into our box
Woke up this morning asking myself why I do it! Crazy travelling spending lots of money but it’s my club.
No matter what shit we have to watch you just can’t stop. I’m in a strange mood this morning because I’ve looked at the table and what a different outlook we’d have if we won. We never and it wrecks my head but to still be only 3 points off third shows that it’s going to one of those seasons with many in the mix. A consistent run of results can really make your season but to be brutally honest we are not capable of that in the league.

First half yesterday was a championship game. Severe lack of quality and just a running festival. We have no players who can take on players with skill or guile. Tbh i think skill has gone out of game.
You can play any defence system you like if you have VDV's pace to get you out of trouble.
Walker has been doing it for City and England for years (and us!).
Without that pace any mistake Romero, Dragusin or Davies make risk punishment.
A lot of footballers today are athletes that just happen to play football for a job.

I just think with system we play we should have players who can take on players with skills and magic. Not just running all the time.

100% agree with you. All athletes that are robotic and play to systems. No flair,guile,pure natural ability type players that get you off your seat.
The game is becoming so boring at times.
