Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You make lots of valid points and yes, for sure Ange is way out of his depth at this club and in this league.

But...

Even a trio of Pep + Klopp + Ancelotti couldn't get a banging tune out of Vicario, Dragusin, Udogie, Porro, Brennan...or our supposedly world class talents like Romero and Madders. Yeah, they might make them marginally better and as a unit we may play better and get more W on the board, but it wouldn't last long. At the end of the day they ain't magicians, they ain't gonna turn rusty nails into shiny gold bars. Those players are just not skilled enough but, more importantly, they just don't have what it takes in brains, heart and guts to be serious contenders. There's a reason they're at Spurs and not at a proper winning club.

So sacking the manager? Hell yeah. But apply the same treatment to all those on that roster who are openly stealing a living...and there's quite the list. Weird cause apparently it was all because of Dier, Skipp, Hojbjerg?!

But that gonna change anything, are we suddenly gonna challenge under yet another manager and with different players? Nope. First, we got Ange in cause nobody elite wanted the gig. And find me a truly WC player who'd wanna come to Tottenham...remember Mbappé's reaction? Yeah.

You really wanna make a difference? It's not Ange, it's not the players. We all know who that one person is who's been harming this wonderful club of ours ever since he first set foot in N17. We all know who the absolute No 1 culprit is. Who's made shocking mistake after shocking mistake, who hasn't got a clue how to operate a top 4-6 PL football club. This club has a cancer at its core and his name is DANIEL FUCKING LEVY. Our club will never ever do anything as long as that utter disgrace is in the building. He might strike gold again like he did with Poch, he sure hoped he had with Ange, but that's literally his only "strategy", which is a damning indictment of our inept he is...and shows how critical it is that he gets as far away from Tottenham Hotspur, as early as possible...and for good.
Not going to disagree with any of that, the rot starts from the top.

On your point about the players stealing a living - this is something that has been handled so poorly over the last few years. Levy needs to accept a loss on a player (even an expensive one) much quicker.

We have the likes of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dier etc who stink up the place for years, with Levy seemingly waiting for them to become magically good under a new manager.

That's not how a big club serious about winning things behaves - there's a lack of focus and ruthlessness needed to be a top team.

is our squad in the top 5? interested in your opinion. Anyone that claims we should be getting top five must believe that is where our squad sits.

For me our squad is well short of top 5.
I am not sure if it is anymore because some of the players have gone way down in my estimation but thats the way the club will look at it and where we finished last season anything less is backwards - 2 points shy of Villa despite our disaster of a finish.
I personally don't think Villa are up to much despite the praise they get, United will have a new man in charge and could get a bounce and some good players, Newcastle and Chelsea will be in and around it too but they are both inconsistent with their own issues.
Brighton and the rest will fall away at some point.
Its not a high quality chasing pack for 4th and 5th spot imo and there for the taking for any two teams who find consistency - atm that doesn't look like us.

The only way to succeed at Tottenham in some sort of capacity is, to hire a manager not wedded to a particular system.
Someone who, will ask for certain players but when the price or wages are too steep, you can then adapt with second rate signings.
That's the only way I can see it working, under the restriction of an unambitious chairman, who only is interested in making the club a financial powerhouse, whilst balancing it off by having the football side as a pauper.

Iirc on those occasions the teams were on horrid runs of form with consecutive losses and some big defeats, it seemed tne players had given up too

Atm the team is not like that, they are just inconsistent and are only 3 points off 3rd place. Ange hasn't lost the dressing room
Terrible runs, like losing 10 league games out of 18 or 3 of the last 5? AVBs wasnt that bad, nor Nunos. We havent had any absolute shoeings as yet but with our defending its coming.

If he hasnt lost the dressing room it points to massive issues about his motivation, tactics and flexibility as 2nd half v Brighton Palace and yesterday were god awful.

Marco Silva then?

Wrong. Ange will get to finish this season regardless and an assessment will be made in the summer.

Whats the worst case scenario? We finish mid table and win nothing? Levy will happily allow that to happen rather than make a rash decision and have Mason in charge, while he has to fork out a big fee to try and get Frank/Iraolo.

Cmon lads, your better than this. Think before you type and give your heads a wobble if you think Ange could be sacked soon.
Right. ‘Cause it’s not like Levy to pull the the trigger is it. Like Nuno, Jose (just before a cup final, poch. I think it’s you that needs to give your head a wobble if you think Levy won’t change things

Should of had a shoe in against Galatasary and palace, fact is the team has been lucky not to have been spanked.
Rubbish defending and a coach who is struggling to coach.

Yeah but;

Levy hasn't got huge wages to service any more has he?

Top 4 is a bonus for the miser these days; not a neccesity.

As long as he has extra games at the Megadome & pockets to pick I doubt Levy cares if we are in the Champions League or the Farmers League.

Get the disappointment today but fact is the Squad is not top 4 quality.
Man City, Liverpool, Woolwich & Chelsea have much better & I expect them to finish top 4.

5th was decent last season we almost got 4th.

In reality unless we overachieve or others underperform 5th to 8th is our level.
Us, Villa, Man U, Toon all have aspirations to finish top 4. Not a lot to choose between the squads imho
In reality 1 of us will finish 8th at best.
If a smaller club overperforms as often happens maybe lower?

Prem league is getting tougher any aspirations to win it at the moment is a pipe dream
Always the fcuking quality of the squad blah blah blah, as though you or anyone else really knows what that means, other than looking at the top 4 at any given moment.

For example we could have been top 4 had we beaten the mighty Ipswich yesterday and then?

So in effect take City out of the equation and then look at the other teams and their players.. Yes, some obvious examples of better players than ours but not all.
Sure not all but over the cause of a season you normally finish where you belong/deserve.
You honestly think hand on heart our squad is better than any of Man City, Liverpool, Woolwich or Chelsea 🤔.

We are the next tier imho so should be battling for 5th to 8th.

Sure we could get top 4 if Ange overachieves.
Just like Villa got top 4 last season because Emery overachieved.

I really don't know why it is so hard to understand?

I'm not expecting Top 4. I don't think anyone here does.

However I do expect to not be rolled over by Ipswich at home so fucking easily.

Why should we not expect top 4? As doom and gloom as it is in here right now, if we win just ONE of the two losses to winless Palace and winless Ipswich, we’re in 3rd.

The league is a total clusterfuck outside of Liverpool right now. Third and fourth are there for the taking for anyone with a shred of consistency.

We should absolutely expect to get top 4. If we don’t, it’s a failure on the players, management and club as a whole.
