Player Timo Werner

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

One good thing Werner has is energy. And he is pretty good at crosses, passes and finding people. Personally, I'd like to see him play alongside Son. I think him and Son have a similar kind of energy. And Son might help him out with scoring. I also happen to think that Son should play in the striker position. Have a free, central position in the attack. I would, therefore, use Solanke as a back-up striker or reinforcement. I would like to see something like this up front:

Johnson - Kulusevski - Werner
- - - - - - - - - - Son - - - - - - - - -

And then Solanke could come on in the second half to face a tired defense and he could take up the central striking position with Son being strategically re-placed on the left or on the right depending on his health, the game in question, and the form of others like Werner etc.

Walker implicated in all 4 goals actually. Didn't track Maddison's run (twice) for the first two, missed a tackle on Kulu in the buildup to Porro's and then didn't track back, and then showed Werner his outside for the last goal.

Walker is getting older, but ya, Timo SMOKED him today.
"Taxi for Walker" vibes!

Timo has that kind of run in his locker, always. Glad we could put it to good use.
Really nice ball across the front from him- put it on a plate for Johnson.
Knock it, run past the defender and slide the ball across.

As long as you set up the team for Timo to do that he will be a very effective player. Just don't ask him to do anything else.

It was the kind of run that Richy did against Villa.

They train to make that run and put it blindly across the six yard box for a tap in.

Sometimes Johnson doesn't score the tap ins so you can tell the fans waited until it definitely hit the back of the net to celebrate.

To be honest their keeper just let us do what we want across his six yard box today.

Our crossing was good but yeah.
