If we would have hit a few longer balls into the forward players towards the end to turn their defence around we would have won that game but he is too stuck on his principles to adapt even to just see out a scrappy win

Funny how everyone suddenly gives a fuck about performances in EL when we were told that it doesn't count when we were beating Ferencvaros and dem man a few months ago.

Highly doubt anyone at any point said it didn’t count. What was pointed out was that we had played a lot of dross, and likely were not learning much from beating dross.

Now we’ve played two competent teams on the continent with actual resources and players people have heard of and it’s two bad performances.

That’s why it probably means a bit more. Nobody thinks the EL doesn’t matter. Everyone is united on the idea that they’d much rather win this than get top four. But we won’t do it if we cave vs competent sides.
 
Maybe now some will get why I was the way I was after the galatasaray performance and result. Just not taking this seriously enough. Manager can pull out all the stops to try and beat his man crush pep but doesn't seem to give other teams and managers the same respect. Pep is his cup final as long as he wins that he's happy.

Says we should have put the game to bed much earlier yet completely ignores the fact that Roma could have scored 6 themselves.

This is a recurring thing with him. He glosses over performances when the same thing keeps happening every week. The way we defended tonight was totally unacceptable and he just ignores it and tries to spin it that it was simply our finishing which let us down.

He just doesn’t seem to care about defending.

Nobody said it didn't count you tool. People were just wary of using victories against vastly inferior opponents as a yardstick to gauge the managers progress.

Of course they count and of course we give a fuck about Europe.

For those who don't know a wog in Oz is somebody from the Mediterranean. Being of Maltese descent I was very much a wog back in the day. Sandals with socks at school and everything. Pretty much everybody was in my area growing up.

Aussies were called skips.

Wogs had a unique accent back then and I used to laugh at my Maltese grandfather picking up the phone saying "Gday mate how are ya?" in a full aussie outback legend twang and immediately afterwards resorting to a thick Maltese accent.

Vaguely related here is what a wozzie sounded like for me growing up.

Yep. Some of us have been saying we will get knocked out of the cups as soon we play a decent side and Galatasaray and Roma have shown that is probably true. Yes we could have scored more but so could Roma, it’s not sustainable winning football, it relies on luck far too much.

We don’t have the tactical set up or in game management under Ange to win trophies. We defend like Sunday league

I threw my ticker-tape as the teams came out (as did a few others to be fair) but that was about it...

But a light show and Paul Coyte (bless him) doesn't exactly strike fear into the opposition... As tonight proved!

Spurs have some VERY weird fans at home these days...
