Why don't those games count?

The classicNow take out those first ten games which I know people don't want to do but it reads
It was a criminal collapse. Them first ten games really killed some people's critical faculties.
Injury crisis 2.0, school kids in the bench. Too many games. Get to March in 6-8th position and we finish 4th. Levy knows this, Ange ain’t going anywhere yetThere is a reasonable chance we get turned over tomorrow and we all know what's going to happen Sunday. If we lose these two then we will probably slip into the bottom half and Ange will have the following PL record: P 53, W 26, D 8, L19. Now take out those first ten games which I know people don't want to do but it reads: P 43, W 18, D 6, L19. That is filthy form and many a manager has gone for far better under Levy. Can only see one outcome on Monday... Mason version 3.0
You missed the Ignorance highlight. Thanks for you contribution. I' ll tell auto correct and fix it. Another asset to the forum. March 2424....sigh

They absolutely count... but it would probably be better to look at a rolling 12 months... i.e. Ange's last 38 games (a full season) . If we do that then it's: P 38 W 18 D 6 L 14 Pts 60 - on average that gets you a 7th place position in the PL. Those 10 games, rightly or wrongly, quickly changed our expectations.
Levy had likely already done plenty of due diligence on Paul McKenna after that claim. We should go for Paul McKenna that knobhead who writes all those self help books like I can make you rich .
See if i can make you premier league champions is in his locker .
Nothing is changing no matter who we get in , finishing 7th or 9th or 10th is no big difference , even if 7th with the right domestic cup results gets ECL qualification.

So what if they happened?I understand that a lot of people see the first ten games he had as a ‘new manager bounce’ and that it hid what our more consistent performance levels are, but you can’t just remove them from the equation.
I’m not an Ange fan, but those games took place and have to be included in any stats people drum up. Let’s be fair.
But he has put together this squad. We could have got one for £18M but never went in for him. Just saying that is one player but there are plenty others out there. This is his squad and players he wanted or signed off on.

I don't understand why though. It didn't stop fans turning on better coaches sooner.
So what if they happened?
They happened a long time ago and everything has gotten worse, consistently ever since.
He's arguably been making us progressively worse since he arrived. I'm not even sure it's arguably actually. We went from consistent, to inconsistent. We went from unbeatable to easily beatable for at least 50% of our opponents.
If you look at our season review on wiki for last season, if shows our league position every week of the season. We went to to 1st and then down to 5th with 1 or 2 weeks back in 4th.
This season, out of 13 match weeks, we have been in the bottom half twice, 10th 3 times, 8th once, 8th twice. We've literally been getting worse all the time.
If you read the majority of my posts mate I agree with you.
My point is simply that when people are trying to show our performance over a long period of time they can’t just ignore him winning his first ten games. They still count.
You in this post and someone else above have provided the sort of context which is needed, I.e saying look at 38 games/a full seasons worth since as it gives context to the argument.
My original post is saying simply that it isn’t as easy as just saying “if we ignore these ten games it looks even worse!” Which isn’t what you’ve done, but others have.
What a ray of sunshine you are..are you notabadsquad's mum? There is a reasonable chance we get turned over tomorrow and we all know what's going to happen Sunday. If we lose these two blah, blah, blah.
You missed the bit where your opinions actually matter.
You must be joking if you are referring to the first 10 games surely?
Sadly plausible. Apart from the city bit!!!Came across this beauty. When the stats don’t lie……..
Be interesting to see if they do it again in January
The crazy thing is they gave us more points than we actually got.
