It was a criminal collapse. Them first ten games really killed some people's critical faculties.
Injury crisis 2.0, school kids in the bench. Too many games. Get to March in 6-8th position and we finish 4th. Levy knows this, Ange ain’t going anywhere yet
I understand that a lot of people see the first ten games he had as a ‘new manager bounce’ and that it hid what our more consistent performance levels are, but you can’t just remove them from the equation

You missed the Ignorance highlight.
They absolutely count... but it would probably be better to look at a rolling 12 months... i.e. Ange's last 38 games (a full season) . If we do that then it's: P 38 W 18 D 6 L 14 Pts 60 - on average that gets you a 7th place position in the PL. Those 10 games, rightly or wrongly, quickly changed our expectations.The classic

They happened a long time ago and everything has gotten worse, consistently ever since.
He's arguably been making us progressively worse since he arrived. I'm not even sure it's arguably actually. We went from consistent, to inconsistent. We went from unbeatable to easily beatable for at least 50% of our opponents.
If you look at our season review on wiki for last season, if shows our league position every week of the season. We went to to 1st and then down to 5th with 1 or 2 weeks back in 4th.
This season, out of 13 match weeks, we have been in the bottom half twice, 10th 3 times, 8th once, 8th twice. We've literally been getting worse all the time.
Lol - this is why I simply don't trust the vast majority of "Ange Outers". They simply fabricate reality.
Postecoglou wanted Eze and Gallagher. Chased them for several windows. Clearly he wanted more robust "1st Team ready" options. He didn't get them. So we - and he - were left light.

There were cracks already in those first 10 games.
The Liverpool win was shallow. The Sheff United game was ridiculous. Even the draw at Brentford was masking a poor showing.
There's 3 games and 7 points there that were actually pretty bad.
Could argue United should have had a penalty at 0-0 then maybe it's a different game.
But some of our fans were so deeply in love at that point there was no return

Since 1985 we have won 3 domestic cups. 2 of the the lesser respected trophy. Each time finishing mid table in the league.

If you read the majority of my posts mate I agree with you.
My point is simply that when people are trying to show our performance over a long period of time they can’t just ignore him winning his first ten games. They still count.
You in this post and someone else above have provided the sort of context which is needed, I.e saying look at 38 games/a full seasons worth since as it gives context to the argument.
My original post is saying simply that it isn’t as easy as just saying “if we ignore these ten games it looks even worse!” Which isn’t what you’ve done, but others have.
Mate, don't - this discussion has been raging on for months - some folks don't understand how football seasons work, why they are setup like that and how there are actually other teams that play in the league whos performances and results attribute to where you finish.

They had city finishing on 84 points and they finished on 91.
Underestimated them. Or overestimated others.
Chelsea and woolwich performed better than they expected too.
Liverpool they got spot on.
