Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

💯 - it's incredible how the same people who pretend to moan about Levy then turn around and blame the manager after yet another window where 1 - ONE - First 11 player is brought in. Like Iraola, Potter, Frank, or whoever the fuck is going to do better. They're not. They might stabilise for a while - get some players back and we'll be better. But it will be just another false dawn like all the other ones and when the inevitable run of poor results happens to the next guy they'll all turn on him like rabid dogs...

And the cycle will start again.

Sorry but, both Levy and Ange are at fault !!! 1. Levy for doing what he always does and 2. Ange who wont adapt and use the squad properly, hence the number of injuries, players being over and under used (Spence). Perhaps if Ange had shown a modicum of nous to try to at least fix the defense and use a little bit of tactical awareness the team may be in a better place. We are likely to lose at Southampton because of Ange's arrogance and lack of adaptability.

So what? I remember Christian Gross beating a good Blackburn side 3-0 and scoring 6 at Wimbledon. Juande Ramos coaching us to a 5-1 win over Woolwich and beating a good Chelsea side in the final. Even Nuno beat Man City. Every dog has its day. There has never been a Tottenham manager that cant get the odd good result and performance.
My reaction to those games against Villa and City wasn't "we have a good manager who's on the right track" it was "for all our squads faults and some sloppy recruitment.... we do have some good players". We could be doing a lot better if they played in a well coached system

My 2 cents
I don't know what Levy is waiting for now. Last night was another head shaking performance. I get it, Levy short changed him with the squad, players are injured, confidence is low. But we need to do something and as we are not going to spend £200m in January the only lever that can be pulled is the Ange out one. This is another season down the drain. We can't win a game a football against teams with a fraction of our budget so I have made peace with the fact this will be another trophyless season. I'll take a point on Sunday now but if Ange is still in charge this has all the makings of a 3-2 Southampton type game.

I have resigned myself to the fact Ange has to go . Thereafter history tells us there are 2 scenarios

1 ). We hire completely the wrong guy and it is a disaster and he is fired within 2 years max , probably less.

2). We hire the right guy , don’t back him properly , undermine him and he leaves or we sack him in 3- 5 years .

Not sure there is a 3rd scenario from my perspective

Lol - I don't disagree entirely BUT you're doing the Spence thing again. This is what always happens.

Conte never played Spence. Got sacked.

Now Ange never started Spence. Getting sacked.

The next guy won't start Spence. He'll get sacked.

Is it all because they are all stupid and Spence is in fact the greatest footballer to ever walk the earth and Daniel Levy was a genius to buy him and no one can see it other than Daniel and his acolytes on this forum?

Or is there another common denominator here?

Maybe we should sign Spence as our manager? :D

The inability to think in terms of multiples is always persistent.

Ange, board, Levy, players - why can't all play their role?

As baldy isn't going anywhere any time soon changing the manager can improve matters.

However it's got to the stage where there must be some form of fan pushback - either protests, not going to matches, or something else.
I'm torn on Liverpool. Might sell my ticket as there's nothing worth 6 hours of my day to go and watch.
Except the planned ENIC/Levy protest. The problem is, that'll probably be less of a show than Spurs at the moment.
He paid 15M a year to get conte….
But not a penny to get him out of a contract of a current club.
Santini, AVB, Mourinho, Nono, Conte, Ang - Levy loves a freebie coach with no work and no compensation to get.

That and the fact both of those teams went 2 months without a fucking win.
It's like bragging you beat Christopher Reeve up after he fell off his horse.

He didn't relegate Leicester. They sold all their players and left him there in an untenable position hoping he'd resign because they couldn't afford to sack him. It was an absolute farce.
But you're proving my point, you hate him because he left glorious Celtic for a mid table premier league club.
And he'll do it again.
I don’t hate Rodgers at all. Most managers would leave a skint league to the richest league in the world. Hardly a scoop there fella

3). Levy takes over, backs himself with 500m spurge on the worlds best players, we are still shit (obviously) but he won't sack himself... this becomes our eternal existence

Pretty much how things go with almost every managerial appointment for any club.

Listen, we all know Levy is a problem. But Poch showed (and so did Conte for just over a year before he burnt out) that it's not necessarily an impossible problem. It just makes the job so much harder and means that not all managers are equipped to handle it. Ultimately both managers fell short, one crashed and burnt more rapidly than the other and tossed a grenade on the way out but we reached highs that we're not seeing with Ange.

Wanting to change managers doesn't mean you have to absolve Levy. Every time you say you need to choose Levy or Ange it's just a strawman argument. Mates, I don't choose the owners. I don't have £4bn to buy ENIC out. I don't personally know anyone who does.

Saying we have to continue this madness "because Levy" is just a false argument.

Option 2 is where we have had the most "joy"
Jol, Redknapp and Poch. Even Conte to some degree.
We're not winning titles or building a sustainable successful football team. So we just need a coach for a few years who can get 110% from whatever squad he has.
Not 30%
