That's why I've become so down on the overall level of our squad. It was the Brighton game really - that was just poor individual mistakes across a whole range of players that simply should be beyond hat now. I love Pedro Porro but the bloke can't or won't learn the basics of defending. Biss just won't rise to the levels he's capable of consistently enough.Madds the same. Even Kulu is too inconsistent for someone of his talents.
I've readjusted expectations accordingly.
As much as i'm loving tonight, especially after the last few weeks performances, I am not getting carried away. This is fucking Southampton after all. Probably going to go down in history as one of the worst teams to grace the top flight.

But for a start, i'd like to ask our manager why Djed Spence hasn't been given more opportunities, especially given how Porro has been struggling/performing the last few games. Let's face it, Spence had a really good pre season and has done well the times he's been given all season, so why not rotate him.

He does have a lot to learn but I thought he had a calmness about him in the first half he was always showing and comfortable on the ball... He did then try to be the man and take some risks... I have no issue with that it shows a bit of character and those are the moments that can change a game, he will learn with age when to and not to do it. When were 3 nil up it's fine.
Like what Spence did in the first minute if he plays it safe that 1st goal don't happen.

Really is a case of 'if only' because we are doing alot of good things but we haven't got the results consistently which is the frustrating thing.

I am still wondering why Spence hasn't been used more - now Udogie could be injured and Porro had to come on again when rested ffs. Play the kid.
IF we can beat United (albeit after a confidence boosting win themselves today!) and not lose to Liverpool this may be a key part of the season and galvanise the team a bit.
One thing is for sure - the players have not downed tools for Ange at all.

Yang needs to go on loan for 2 or 3 seasons. Moore could do with regular gametime, like start week in week out...doubt he's there yet, so a loan to a top Champo or newly promoted team in PL could be wise. Odobert? Jury's still out obviously, but IMHO no way is he a starter here...I'm still pissed off we spent 30 big ones on that kid.
Werner, yes - get rid asap.
