Yang needs to go on loan for 2 or 3 seasons. Moore could do with regular gametime, like start week in week out...doubt he's there yet, so a loan to a top Champo or newly promoted team in PL could be wise. Odobert? Jury's still out obviously, but IMHO no way is he a starter here...I'm still pissed off we spent 30 big ones on that kid.

Werner, yes - get rid asap.

Game-changers? We need more than one of those. More like 3 or 4.

I'm expecting Yang to get a Euro loan as well but until we see him over here, we have no idea.

Moore they decided he'd be better off here than on loan. I can see where they are coming from. His illness was a killer because this period would have been ideal for him.

Odobert the same. He'd have been knocking on Son's door for that LW spot by now. Let's see what he looks like when he's back from injury but I was really impressed with that debut.

I said a while back PMS has been integral to every big good performance we have had for three years. It's not a coincidence. If we have any chance against United he has to play well

He’s a beast of a player already and is only going to get better. I didn’t see him adding goals to his game but he’s doing that so well.

Another paratici gem. Surely we still have eyes on his list?

I understand that- still- to give someone with a supposed attitude issue a contract extension so recently? It's just really bizarre, and I think you would have to agree on that. Somehow he has been frozen out of THFC for the better part of 3 seasons, has a known attitude issue, but then we decide to extend his contract? How does he simultaneously have an attitude issue and not even be worth 10m to Genoa (almost a worthless contract), and then suddenly, while he's been completely on the outskirts of the squad, become worthy of an extension? It's utterly bizarre.

Maddison said after the match that he’s very laid back. That kind of personality can get confused by people very easily. He’s probably the kind of player Redknapp would do well with like he did with BAE.

Wait till our medicos get to him... 😭 😭 😭

Just got back, from a (well overdue) excellent evening . Spence and Sarr stood out to me but lots of positives everywhere. Nice to see Dorrington’s debut, don’t know how old he is but he’s a big lad, had some presence. Just a fun, relaxed game for once. Fair play to the Southampton fans who didn’t leave, they sang their hearts out second half, although a lot of it was gallows humour - the best kind.

Also, a cautionary note to all Christmas match goers. It’s probably not a good idea to try and squeeze two mince pies into your coat pocket for half time. Things will get messy. Don’t be greedy. Trust me on this.

I actually think the reason we did so well in the first half was Son.

That was the old Sonny. He was on it. Has he been cruising? Has he been injured? Is he just getting on? Does he do better playing with better players? Is he just streaky?

Probably all of those at some stage but if we want to do anything this season we need tonight’s Son more often than not.

That was fast.

What are you driving?

Tons of space against a shit defender imo mate - need more like this from him for sure but his mins need managed badly if and when we get players back from the treatment table.

Bonkers is the word man.
2nd best attack, equal 3rd best defence, +17 goal difference and sitting 10th. Some weird shit happening.
It's not weird IMO, it's very telling and indicative of our lack of plan B. Of course when you are parked in the oppo half for most of the game if they're playing shit you're going to knock 4 or 5 past them, it's the games where the opposition don't play shit that we seem to have no answer for a low block. Whether that is a manager or player issue is unclear, we do lack a midfielder who can pick the lock with a sublime pass or dribble, Maddison is pretty good at everything but I don't think he's world class in any particular department. What I wouldn't give to have either of Van Der Vaart or Bale back in a Spurs shirt in this team, I think we'd be well up the table with just one of them. I know other areas are in more dire need but I would spunk the entire summer budget on a player like that to be honest, we sorely lack killer instincts in midfield and I think everyone's games would lift with such a player in the team.
