Match Southampton vs Tottenham: Sunday 15th Dec Premier League 19:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

When you have a weak squad relative to the league you have to play Moyes style football. Kompany killed the championship with Burnley playing Pep ball but then got killed himself in the prem doing the same.

Pep style football works the best if you have a 1-4th best squad in the league, then it dominates. If you have anything less it is far to risky as you don’t have the players to execute.
Funnily enough I bet you Moyesy will be their next head coach. He or Southgate.

We're Spurs, we shouldn't have to rely on a 17yo, no matter how wonderful he may become...or a 20yo from Burnley. They should be bit-part players for the next 3 or 4 seasons, playing deputies to true world beaters...so not Werner or Johnson (nor 32yo Sonny).

But Levy.
I do think Moore is an exception to the rule, even the very top sides will look to get a generational talent involved in first team football in their teen years; both Harvey Elliot and Phil Foden made their respective league debuts at 17, Elliot has 123 caps for Liverpool in all comps and is only 21, Foden in the 18/19 season made 26 apps in all comps for City, also never spent a season on loan. In order to get the very most out of such a huge potential player you need them playing at the absolute highest level possible with the best possible players from as young as possible, if you give them that push into first team football and they clearly have some growing to do you send them back to the youth team or out on a loan and revisit once they're a bit older and bigger, but if they're destroying every metric at youth level even in higher age groups like Mikey has been it would be bonkers not to try and find a pathway to first team minutes for him as early as possible.

How many good games has he had in a Spurs shirt? How many great ones? How many goals, assists, big chances created, goal-saving moves etc?

What about shit ones where his laziness or stupidity or whatever else you wanna call it cost us goals (for or against)...and, worse, big points?

I know where I stand. I don't buy the hype round him at all. His skillset is painfully average and his attitude leaves much to be desired. If Spurs were a serious club, he's nowhere near the starting 11. He wouldn't make the matchday squad for Pool, City, Scum, Goons...
I think the ones you deem as shit are massive over reactions and he's had some of the best LB performances I can remember in a Spurs shirt. When he's really at it, he dominates the likes of Salah and Saka but he's young and still inconsistent. Plus we have no real cover so he gets over played.

Well that was a shit load of fun. Up the Spurs!

Thought that DJ, Gray and Bergvall played very well, and maybe a bit expected given the opposition, but that said three of our goals were exceptional irrespective of the other team.

United and Scouse will be different gravy and we are in for a rollercoaster of a week.

If only we could get our centre backs fit we would be more of a threat, and this is meant with all due respect to Dragu and Gray.

So Barca and Spain, the current European Champion shouldn't been relying on a 16 year old Lamal?

Young players aren't useless because they are young. Don't get me wrong, we need a proper forward like Marmoush but I think you are going OTT on giving the young players chances.

With respects to Moore, Elliot and Foden at their ages played for two very high quality teams who could afford to carry two very young talents.

I just don't see that opportunity at this moment in time with our current starters.

That said had he been fit today it would have been a good opportunity for him.

Hopefully that will change after Spence's performance tonight. I don't think there is any way Ange can justify not giving him more game time after that.
