Ange has made it abundantly clear Porro starts if alive - would love to be proved wrong!
Yeah offers nowhere near what Spence does at fullback in either direction.
I guess it's a team culture thing. If Spence is a lazy fuck in training, Ange does not want to reward that.
But then he decided to keep him round this season. Can only guess that Spence made a big effort during pre-season and then had a sulk when he wasn't getting minutes.
His performance today was outstanding and should be rewarded with a run of games
You could start them together on the right I think. They get forward so much anyway they can share the load with one dropping when the other one goes forward.
Behind the scenes theories aside....... As far as squad balancing goes; Gray makes the cut in the EL ahead of Spence on the basis of versatility.... From there it is fair that Ange rewards Grays performances.
I do maintain that DJed should have already seen more EPL mins by now though this season.

Fully agree. Spence has laid a marker down now (albeit against the worst team in the league) but it will be hard to justify Gray at full back ahead of him anymore.
It's even more difficult to accept when you consider Udogie's form this season.
You'd defo want to properly designate RB or RW to them though...... It would quickly become a mess with little to gain; especially as modern attacking football allows for the FB to push high anyway, but equally they need to know that the defensive 3rd is primarily THEIR space to protect (with the aid of their corresponding CB).

We’ve absolutely blown some teams away this year and not adjusted/played the best fit for other games which has seen us get undone.

I fully agree I wanted to see him rotated in earlier but come on now... And we don't know what goes on behind closed doors when it comes to selection. Ange is the first Spurs manager to star Djed in a prem game and after the decision to keep him around and put his faith in him, you are calling him a stubborn cunt? That's a bit dramatic.
Not just DJed. I’ve no better idea than you about what he does or doesn’t do in training. But it’s been painfully obvious that our fullbacks need a break or risk them getting injured too. Lo and behold, Spence comes in today and puts in an admirable shift for the shirt on both flanks.
It’s a wider issue. And it will get Ange fired if he’s not careful. From last years Chelsea game he shows few signs of changing things up or protecting a lead when it starts looking frayed around the edges on the pitch.
We don’t work on set pieces, we only play one way etc. all from the horses mouth.
I thought we protected our lead well today btw. But we’d stuck 3 past a really shit side before a lot of fans had got to their seats.
They were broken and had no belief. We will continue to pulverise teams like that.
If we could protect a two goal lead every time we had it, we’d be challenging at the top of the table.
And that starts with team selection and in game management. Be honest- Spence would have been nowhere near the starting line up if we’d not been decimated with injuries. He’d rather play 18 year old Gray out of position than a recognised full back who can cover both flanks.
Hopefully Spence today put a dent in that stubborn attitude that bugs me about Ange.
If it’s working, no need to tinker.
But to keep doing the same thing hoping for a different result often ends in accusations of insanity.

We have a bit of cover at full back, well that’s news to me
when Spence was at RB in defensive mode he was always looking over his shoulders to check where the outside attacker was (good sign to me, if you watch the other RB/LB's they rarely check)
for the goal he recieved the ball and turned with it (again something most of our players rarely do)
also when playing RB (yes 25mins only) he was playing more defensive than Porro plays
when playing on the Left he played a lot more forward not so defensive (I like my defenders to defend first)

This really is a baffling comment from Ange.
Yes. Archie has done well when asked to play RB. No slight on him at all. But he is not an out and out RB. Djed is the depth at right back and has been misused by Ange so far this season. He could at least have gotten more minutes off the bench.
And let’s be real: if Davies was fit, Gray would have played at RB not Spence.
