Match Tottenham v Manchester United - Carabao Cup - Thursday 19th at 8PM

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m fucking delighted with that. How many senior players out? Nine? We should be losing with that many out, certainly against a decent side. And they are a decent side. Not great, but not shite.

Swinging for the fences throughout, scored 4. Committed comedic errors. Scored directly from a corner. Panic, fun, entertainment, joy. Through to the semis.

The fact that some on here are absolutely fucking raging we won makes it all the more delicious.

It was a great game to watch on the tv as I dealt with some work emails. A few “WTF are we doing”moments.

Not sure what my emotions would be like if I was in the ground though.

Does make me laugh the various states our fanbase gets in over Angeball. Enjoy the ride. What else can we do standing / watching on the sidelines?

My final thoughts on tonight, I really want us to turn a corner and use this as a stepping stone to get there. Do I think we will? Not really, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Happy to be in the semi, hopefully we perform a miracle and beat Liverpool but I think any team would struggle against them right now so it’s going to be tough.

I want to see some league consistency before then.

Ange gets a lot of deserved pelters for his style but what in the flying fuck were Redknapp and Carragher talking about? We are absolutely cruising to a win and we do a couple of silly mistakes trying to play out of the back, both goalkeeper errors. And let's have it right every single team in this league plays out of the back. Ange can't legislate for that.

I think they were just looking for an excuse to attack him, compare it to the gentle bollock massage the United manager got and he's just lost 4-3 to a team featuring Forster, Gray and Radu with Spence starting only his second game...

Perspective would be nice

I absolutely love all goals scored direct from a corner (fun fact: they're called "Olympic goals" in Spanish). As far as I can remember, this is the first Spurs one I've seen, live on TV at least.

They're even better than thundercunt shots that rifle off the underside of the bar, hit the line, then spin back into the net. Or those that hit one post, run along line, hit the other post, then go in. They're why you watch football.

See also: hat-tricks in cricket (although I'm yet to see one live, it's a sort of Holy Grail for me after 50-odd years of loving the sport), four-leaf clovers and that random time when you completely unexpectedly got to have a one-night-stand with the hottest girl in the bar (once, and it lasted a couple of months. Thank you for ever more, Lisa from Boston).

You have to take into account that we’re doing it with 10 players unavailable. Not enough is being made of that from the pundits

I still think there is a happy medium between this Aussie Ardiles ridiculousness and grinding out 1-0's that could happen with the right man at the helm...and even if we do somehow win this Cup, I don't believe Ange is that man.

We play the system/philosophy (I fucking despise that term in football) above the players' individual strengths under Ange IMO and I think we're a poorer side for it.

In recent times, the best for this was Redknapp by a mile for me...Angeball is draining my passion and my patience tbh.
Yep, all for the attacking football. But when we’re 3-0 up can our reserve keeper not be allowed to kick it long because he’s not comfortable on the ball?

Why can we never adapt our play to the game situation? It’s all well and good saying “this is who we are” etc when playing Ross county and St Johnstone, we never have that luxury.

Ange embarrassed himself in Europe with Celtic playing with that mentality. We’ve arguably embarrassed ourself in Europe plenty of times this season with that mentality. Not smashing everyone bar maybe Gala away and a severely struggling Roma isn’t good enough. Ange smirking away in his interview saying “aren’t you entertained” fucked me off. We had no chance to rest any players because we dug ourselves into a ridiculous hole. If you only play one way why not buy a second keeper who can play with the ball at feet? Why only have 1 CB who is happy with a high line?

Quite keen to see us try that again. Bomb fuck out of the keeper with shots from the corner.

Sonny has been great since being responsible for corners
