We won because we took the game more seriously. I think United have their eyes on the next league games which are all winable. Spurs need to take the cup seriously to get the fans off Anges back and we need silverwear more than they do.
 
United are a mid-table team, made even worse by trying to play a formation that doesn't suit their personnel one bit, but regardless it was a dominant performance before Forster brough them back in .

Playing a physically imposing duo of Sarr-Bissouma against their weak midfield featuring Eriksen and Fernandes worked out quite well. Combine that with us disrupting their build-up from the back, thanks to Solanke/Spence/Sarr/Bissouma in particular, and they never really posed a threat. Without us shooting ourselves in the foot in an extreme fashion, this'd have been a totally one-sided scoreline.

We didn't create enough to justify scoring 4, but we shouldn't really have conceded any either.

Fair. Not battering Rangers has really fucked me off for some reason, can’t let it go! Would have been happier if we could rest some players tonight at 3-0 after 70.. The feeling when Sonny’s corner went it was great, shouldn’t have got to that stage but it’s textbook Spurs I guess and the best moment following us for a while.

Liverpool side who had a day extra rest and played 2/3 first 11. We can’t rest any of our full strength team tonight but as Ange said in his post match interview “aren’t you entertained?” We’re 3/1 to win and slightly over 3s to draw on Sunday. Can’t have had those odds at home to Liverpool for a long time.

Hopefully Ange can earn his corn at the weekend.
