There is no method in our defense- it was the same story v Liverpool. EVEN when we were 4 v 3 during the 4th goal - we were still all over the place.
It was the same versus Chelsea (Enzo 's goal) - we had 11 players back in an odd formation with acres of space for chav players - look at their shape. At one stg we had players 1/2/3/4/5 trying to close down the ball carrier & still failed.
Same failure versus Brighton when the ball carrier on our LHS beat 5 players to float a cross onto Welbeck happily placed himself between 2 spurs CBs to score a header.
v Liverpool - our 3 backs are just looking at the ball -not aware/really marking the pool forwards or facing forward- they basically cannot see where the opp players are. We have 10 players back ffs - look at Mo Salah & DiaZ.
we don't need no stinking 100M strikers or buy more midfielders during the window.
There is currently no defensive coach - we need to buy one.

We can't afford to fuck it up again like we did with Slot. Get Iraola here as soon as possible. Levy should be on the phone to his agent right now to say we will triple his client's salary. If we need to wait until summer then I think it's worth waiting/ employing an interim until then

correct. The Hallmark seems to be 'scrambling'.. scrambling to cover translate to disaster as you 're focused on 'scrambling' the opp players move into space. Every time VDV scrambles like usain bolt to save a situation from a (missing) inverted full back - he's hailed for his defensive prowess. Scrambling shouldn't be a feature of his game -it should only be a break-glass-incase-of-emergency situation. No wonder he 's done his hammies yet again.
I've been banging the Iraola drum for 6 months.
I said Ange should have been sacked in the summer, would have saved us all this pain. I could already see it was all bollocks and the guy was a fraud.
Maybe I should run the club? Seriously, I'd do a better job on the football side. Unfortunately I won't get the chance, and we have Levy. Who fresh from fucking up the Slot chase, which will probably haunt us for years knowing our luck, you can guarantee he will do it again with Iraola.
We have one of Europe's brightest coaches there, and we will instead continue with this ego driven experiment with a fraud Aussie clown. The next few months are critical for us, because if Levy either keeps Ange and misses out on Iraola, or decides to sack Ange but hirea another huge risk, we are totally fucked.
If Levy does not make a move for Iraola he's an even bigger idiot than I thought. There is no way any chairman with a clue, will think Ange is the path to success. It won't work, we see the evidence every week.
I just wish we had a chairman who just made the right decision occasionally. He did it with Poch somehow, now do it with Iraola please.

He's not getting a Real Madrid gig just yet, I wouldn't worry about that. No expected vacancy at the top of Premier League too.
He should be happy enough moving from a 10000+ Vitality Stadium where he is paid a bit over £1m a year to 60000+ WHL where out current manager takes home four times that.
Ange is still a great coach who plays the spurs way. If we get rid of him we will be in trouble. He needs time and better luck with injuries. With the money behind him to really put the plan in place we will get back up there

I mean, even we can get it up for the big games. It's the stupid points dropped against mid-table teams that ruin us. Find me a manager who can beat 9/10 of the peers and then 50% of the top 6 and we're talking.
He’s Basque, played with Arteta and Xabi Alonso in his youth. He walks into Bilbao and gets paid a shit ton but he could easily get the Barca job as well eventually imo.
If we wait it out until the summer and he sees a club that might at least give him 2 seasons, maybe you can get some interest from him but I wouldn’t be so sure. If he gets Bournemouth into Europe this season, his stock in Spain will be really high.

This was a much worse defeat because despite the score line, Palace are weaker than Liverpool and our team was stronger than yesterday. This is why we should not be over reacting today.The excuses about not having a full squad is hogwash. we had a full strength team & still LOST to Palace

Why is he a great coach?
He doesn't do the coaching, he gets a coaching team he doesn't know to coach the players his system.
He's a manager with a system that on the whole isn't working at this level.
Not my chief concern - the players on hand are far better than 11th.
These pictures show what I believe that it is defensive mistakes that are causing the conceding of goals rather than the high line which was the case last season. Poch didn't fit that remit.
I'm not so sure he walks into Bilbao or Barca as yet. Athletic will probably do all that's possible to keep Valverde. Barca? Most likely back to looking at someone connected to the club in some way as most times.
Come on, he is not Xabi Alonso yet. I am sceptical if doing well with a small club in England makes you hottest shit on the market in Spain. But it's a signs for us he can handle Premier League. If we can't get him out of Bournemouth then god help us.
