We’ve gone from "we’ll win the league" in his first season, to "it takes 6 months to rock-n-roll", to "just wait until everyone is back from injuries", to "second season is gonna be explosive just watch", to "league is tight, we’re only 2 points off 2nd place", to "we’re only 3 points off top 4", to "we’re only 5 points off top 6", to "look at the players they’re fighting for him" and ultimately "Ramos had a similar PPG to Postecoglou and he’s won a cup so it must mean something". :harrylol: :harrylol: :harrylol:
We’ve gone even a step further. The fact that we’ve taken 5 points from 24 from our last 8 games should be viewed in a positive light as it is seemingly clear from the manner of our defeats that the manager hasn’t lost the dressing and the players are still playing for him.

Heaven knows what the points return will be like once we move into the dressing room lost phase of the cycle.

I could understand the injuries but if we were smashing it with everyone fit , but I keep thinking back to the palace and Ipswich games where we had a full squad and was shit!
For the record I would love Ange to prove us all wrong and I want to win every game and I’d love him to be successful here but it’s looking like it’s a pipe dream , don’t get me wrong he isn’t the only one to blame for our current state of affairs , if we had half decent owners they would have had players signed on Jan 1st to help but we all know how this ends , better to rip the plaster off quickly and get it over with than prolong the agony!

Tottenham- only the brave.

We have so much talent with us now. That second half? Wow.

If there was a fair football god working, we would have got all points from the very much in form Saudies, and that with our U21.

Patience.

Last summer, you when we signed Ange, I met a couple of Celtic fans, who assured me that we would love Ange, that he would be successful and we would see beautiful football.
When he arrived, he was a breath of fresh air and I fully bought in to his way of playing, even after the Chelsea game, and still thought he was the guy to make us successful, putting down our poor results after the first ten games were just because of injuries to key players and the team and coaching staff getting used to his way of playing.
However, I'm now starting to doubt that he is up to the job. There's no shame in being ambitious to see how far you can go in your career, but there has to be a realization when you've hit your ceiling.
Apart from a couple of headlining wins (which we received no credit by the way, it's always about how bad the opposition were!), we haven't been able to make a run of games all season.
I don't know if I'm at the 'Ange Out' stage yet, as I live in hope that Ange rams this post down my throat. Also, I have no confidence in the Board coming up with the right replacement - Wayne Rooney, anyone???
Anyone who wasn't genuinely happy excited and enthusiastic after the first eight games can not be in love with the club. He seemed too good to be true. Then Sheffield United and Chelsea happened and a few of his decisions really jarred. He then faced an array of coaches who had a look under the hood positionally at what he was doing. They pretty quickly countered it and he seemed unable to respond.

Then the injuries started to build and the bizarre muddled frankly odd treatment of certain players began to infuriate me. Romero, Maddison, Sarr, Forster Austin, Whitman, DJED SPENCE. And it got strange because any legitimate concern was drowned by fans from Melbourne, or fans from Glasgow who assured then insisted then raged, we must have faith this always happens then you become unstoppable. But all I could see was imbalance poor resource management favouritism poor subs and inflexibility.

Truth is the remaining conclusions lasted way longer than the early impressions. I've seen a big enough data set now to see the average. This isn't going to sweep the EPL away. The mans been over promoted. I suspect in the summer Iraola gets approached and Ange never returns to this level again.

Keep the faith Mrs P

We've got to find out what actually happens if we stick by a manager for more than a season and a half.

We've had an awful run of luck, we've had the worst run of injuries since we used to put Doherty up top as a striker......but there's enough there to see that we've got green shoots.

Gray, Bergval, that new keeper.

Ange will come good, or Ange will fail.....but we'll never know the actual truth of whether he can or not if we sack the manager - especially given the circumstances.

If Ange is still here in 3 weeks it proves that Levy does not care about results.
Tired of seeing posts like this. In the past decade plus, we've never finished lower than 5th without sacking the manager. It's plainly clear what Levy/ENIC's minimum expectation for a manager is.

Ange will be sacked. The only thing likely keeping him in a job today is the LC semifinal next week. Once we're throttled in the first leg of that, it's likely all done for him.

I suspect he's already gone.

The only decision is if he gets sacked next week after Liverpool, or if he's given the PL games against Liverpool and Scum too. Maybe Mason will get those?

If the ball had sat up nicely for Joelinton after the accidental handball and he fucking wellies it directly into the net from 25 yards, then the goal would have been ruled out and a foul awarded.

If the ball hit his hand accidentally on the way into the box and then he took it round someone and scored, the same thing would happen.

If someone whacked it into the area and it accidentally defects off a Newcastle players' arm/hand and goes in, then no goal and foul awarded.

Hitting off his arm on the way to Anthony Gordon to then score is completely different.

The Dan Burn one would maybe be the one, but I'm personally not sure of his intent as my immediate thought was that he was trying to put his arm(s) behind his back. At that point in the game with him on a yellow, it's a very hard call to make re: intent IMO and the match was sort of end to end and quite even then.

As for Ange, he's now drowning instead of being out of his depth.

Even Celtic fans can see it which says something.

Maybe five or six points........but the football would be boring as shit.
We’d be grinding out results but then the “Ange out” brigade would be happy with that as long as he ain’t getting beat every week, that a side if Mourinho or Conte were to be in this situation you can bet every cunt and their dog would know about it and so would Levy

Yes - and the clear fact that he still has the players so sacking him risks a massive drop in morale ON TOP OF the poor results.

An assistant won't cut it. They need a replacement the players will play for. In short and medium term.

Pleat used to film that role. Mason won't. Can't imagine any of the other assistants either.

Don't forget he took over a club that just finished 8th. And he dragged this little club up to the dizzying heights of 5th last season.

Honestly imagine if Mourinho said that in a press conference the way this fella did a couple days ago.

And maybe looking to line up a semi-exciting signing which they can roll out immediately after to distract the fans
