What is this actually based on though?

Normally a caretaker comes in when a manager has lost the dressing room, the players would normally get a bounce and go on a run before plateauing because they hated the previous manager and didn't want to play for him - I don't see that here and with matches like today it doesn't tell me that the replacement temp manager would make an iota of difference, probably gets worse if the players are playing for Ange.
Ange is a net negative. If Ange is a net negative, then it follows that a manager drawn from the deck is likely to bring some modest improvement the rest of this season.

Is there a worse performing manager in the PL at present?

Some have been sacked already, but the only reason Ange hasn’t been sacked is because we’ve sacked so many managers lately.

There’s certainly no manager who is doing less with what he has.

If the manager haven't been able to create any form of structure in how the team plays in 18 months. You have no choice, regardless if the players back him or not. And if he's managed us down till bottom half. He has to go. There is no hope anymore for s turn around this season. And there is not any hope what so ever of us winning a title this year.

Tomorrow is much too late, but it must happen soon.
Would there be any hope for next year, if he got another 18 months?

He hasn’t improved the players he inherited.

There were only minimal changes last summer, and likely wouldn’t be major business this coming summer since they’re only buying youngsters and critical replacements.

The bargain of more Ange is more of the same.

Yeah you're right but I guess the question we need to ask is who they manager is...?

If we are looking at a legit replacement then fine but I honestly don't know why Mason would be better choice over Ange right now, what exactly would he be getting out the team and this group of players that Ange currently isn't?

Jeez. Some of these posts.
We won't be relegated...... So we should just all chill and be zen about the situation. 😂
Fuck my life. There's some proper trolls in our midst.
It's actually nuts man.....the exact attitude that gets you sucked in it then realise actually most of our players have never played with that kind of pressure and don't have the bottle for it like Galatasaray, especially when the manager sets you up to lose

If anyone thinks the 2nd half was because of anything else other than Eddie Howe is tripping

He managed the game away from home saved his players from unnecessary exhaustion.

Yes our younger players did well but only one manager managed the game and got the result.

Just watching motd doing their analysis of Newcastle and once again looking at us off the ball it's fucking shocking.
That's one of my biggest gripes with Ange.

When ever you go back to analyse a game it is so obvious that our team is poorly coached. For all the talk of strategy, tactics and system there is a shocking lack of it.

There's a vague idea of how he wants to play. But there's no structure. Both with the ball and without it. The press is also unfocused and all over the place.

Because that second half Newcastle performance is exactly the type of shit we used to do under Conte and had the fans singing Poch's name in the stands.

they completely lost control of the game, couldn't keep the ball, kept giving it away in their own half, and could only ride their luck when we hit the post, forced saves from their keeper and Maddison flashed one past the post.

I am laughing at the capacity fo Spurs fans to see the genius of every team and coach we come against, even if it would have been diabolical if one of our coaches did it.

Woe is us woe is us

Negative doom loop.

Doesn't matter if Ange goes, the next manager will end up in the negative doom loop for being too stubborn and not doing what we want. Even if what we want is completely different from what we said we wanted when we brought them in.

Never-ending purgatory of drama and controversy. Injuries, shit refs, fucked over by fixtures, whatever.

And if we are in a good patch of form you'd better believe our best players want out.

There is zero fucking defensive structure. Zero thought gone into what to do and where to be when we don't have it. So much committed forward it's just pandemonium when teams come at us. No wonder we get so many defensive injuries the amount of sprinting they have to do from being so exposed. Midfielders chasing back all on the wrong side of the ball and the opposition players. It's fucking ludicrous.

If Brennan's shot off the post goes in the're would be praise for Postrecoglou's half time changes, tactics etc.

With the performance of the kids I mentioned? Yes of course.

Austin, Porro, Spence, Gray. Reguillon.

That back five kept Newcastle out for 45 minutes. And Bergvall was immense. Of course proper Spurs fans applauded them. It was an incredible achievement.

You are confusing being happy for some of players with being happy for a result. Seeing as I - like most - expected a thrashing today, the performance was quite far beyond what we expected.

I agree with this. We looked vulnerable nearly every time they came forward in the first half.

Nahhh man....we scored first.....granted their equaliser was fortunate and ref was shite.

But Eddie Howe managed the game got the fortunate equaliser and then got another.

He then backed his players to see the game out. we had a Sarr shot that led to Johnson post chance and a Solanke half chance header.

Eddie Howe got the win. different to his last 5 wins. He knew if he chased, it becomes a tit for tat game that he didn't want because we throw men forward that Increases our chance to score.

Biggest compliment I can pay Gray is that for that first half, even when things looked really tough, he looked like the experienced centre back who was sheperding an inexperienced partner through the game.

I'm not digging out Dragusin, because he's having a hard time confidence wise. and he was ill etc. But Gray has stood up in the last month, in a difficult situation, out of position, beyond what anyone could imagine.

Absolutely.

Also Spence - who had a torrid first half playing out of position at left back - was incredible playing RCB second half. I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw that change but, fuck me, it worked. Somehow.

I can't for the life of mem understand why Spurs fans aren't proud of that performance. It doesn't mean you have to like the manager, It just means you have to love the players who stepped into a breach so vast its a fucking chasm... How can you not love that?

I said in the match thread earlier that, the team is poorly coached and managed.
