Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What was the reason this didn't happen in the summer then? There's no way he only wanted one senior player in the summer.

If Levy gave him assurances and for some reason he was daft enough to believe it then more fool him.

I don't think Ange or club expected the numbers and duration of injuries which we have actually had.

And this is the first year with extended EL and CL 'leagues' which have added 2 more games to the early schedule ....... and also underestimated the effect of a curtailed pre-season due to the number of international games.

So, in short, neither Ange nor club appreciated that the relatively 'thin' squad we had (even though the squad was so large we could not squeeze Spence into EL squad) would struggle to complete the fixture list we have had due to more fixtures to be played in a short period of time and the numbers of injured.

Its worth recalling that several seasons ago we had both Kane and Son out for lengthy periods in same season du to injuries but survived, but this time we've had far more injuries with Richarlison out for almost all the season and Odobert (at previous clubs almost no injuries) similarly out for almost entire season so far.

By all accounts RKM has been crap for PSG. But it is PSG. In the games I saw him for France he seemed a lot more effort than quality. Bit of a roadrunner.

But we need depth and he seems to have a solid fitness record and might fit the league/system and be useful .. would be a decent loan.

Based on the weaknesses of the players in our attack can he

- hold the ball up
- link with players around him
- run at defenders
- work hard on and off the ball

If he can do most of this he will be an upgrade.

The only way Ange gets to sign a contract if Spurs win and he turns things around, surely that occured to you when I said that lol
Nah

It read to me like you would love it if Ange got a contract extension right now , if Ange turned it around there wouldn't be a crazy backlash from any fans

But nice try shady you little rascal

From fan on BBC website on Kinsky:

"As a (completely unbiased) Slavia season ticket holder, I can tell you that Spurs have got a bargain. “Tonda” has been amazing for us - he’s excellent with both feet and the calmest man in the stadium when under pressure. In the league, Slavia have only conceded 7 goals in 19 games. He’s top class although he may find his new defensive team mates aren’t quite as good as he is used to"

Out of curiosity where are people expecting the goals to come from if we signed two wingers to replace Son and Johnson? We would be reliant on a to date one season EPL wonder Solanke and Maddison or Kulu to bag the majority of our goals. I would much rather sign Muani and/or Mbeumo as a wide forward than a winger knowing they’ve both previously and currently (MB) have a track record of both assisting and scoring goals.

Seems like a lot of RKM noise…

Seems more like agent leaks than Lange MO… Unless Paratici is involved in this one and then it’s definitely his MO

On 1 September 2023, Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain signed Kolo Muani for €80 million, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses. He joined the club on a five-year contract.

Mate, the one thing we don’t struggle with is scoring goals.

Solanke btw has 7 Prem goals and 3 assists in early January. So 10 Goal involvements in 17 appearances. He’s no longer a 1 Season wonder.

Long contract, kudos to Lange or Paratici for backing the player.

I know nothing about this kid, aside from ten minutes of YouTube video, but I don't think he's come to bench warm for six years in my humble opinion.

Better money for him no doubt, but this kid can play the game from what i have seen.

P.S.

He does play more kamikaze pass out's from the back and flicks over attacking players than any player currently playing for the Harlem Globetrotters.

I kid you not. Go look. He's full of confidence.

I think it comes down to transfers for the right profile of player are very difficult to do and take a lot of planning, and some luck. By all accounts Solanke was the one player Ange really wanted and the club made it happen. Whilst Solanke has been excellent for us we did pay over the odds to secure him. Very similar with Brennan Johnson who was also over priced. If you look at the players we have signed in the last 2 years (I listed them earlier in this thread) , if I was Ange I would be very happy with the way the squad is developing *if* I am given time to see the investment in younger players bear fruit. Ange's corporate mask has slipped a little recently with the pressure he is under and he did mention he would not have sanctioned Kane's departure if he felt he needed to win something last year or this in a recent interview. I think Ange definitely sees this as a multi-year project (and quite rightly so). Ange alsi will have noted that we are spending money... in the last 3 years only 4 clubs in world football have spent more than us (NET) on players... Chelsea, Man U, Al-Hilal, and PSG, and 3 of those are financially doped.

Whilst I am still behind Ange, I appreciate that he is not perfect, and I was very frustrated that he overplayed Udogie and Porro in the first three months of this season and ignored Spence for so long. I actually think Spence would be better defensively than Porro on the right side (against teams who counter proficiently on their left flank) based on his physicality, pace and aerial ability, and he is certainly better at FB than Archie Gray is.

So another kid in goal? What is the plan here when we have Keeley doing well already?

Does any promising 21 y/o keeper want to ride the bench for most of the season?

I think you have misjudged this signing by quite some way.

I can't see that any twenty one year old player (keeper or not) would sign his best days away to play second fiddle.

I think there is more to this signing than initially meets the eye.

We are gonna run out of HG spots
We're fine for HG atm.
We currently have a full squad for Europa so it's pretty much 1 in 1 out (apart from CT).

We can make 3 changes

Spence in - Richy/Werner/Odobert/Davies out?
Kinsky in - Forster out
New signing 2 in - Richy/Werner/Odobert/Davies out?

We would still have Gray, Maddison, Solanke and Johnson in the 4 HG slots whatever happens so doesn't really matter if other signings are HG or not.
