The planet of context and perspective. Something clearly lacking on here.

I might take a break from this place for a few days because its just draining having to explain everything time and time again.

Someone will probably bring up the false narrative that Ange rushed Romero back and got him injured again soon.

Could you explain why it’s so draining please?

Do it mate, take a break - trust me you'll feel better.

Absolute bulshit. Absolute lies.

And I'm referring to his first part season in charge because as you ought to be aware Berbs was sold from underneath him at the start of the 2nd and disastrous one. But you knew that didnt you?

I thought when he came in it was a good move. His Sevilla team had won EUFA cups. We beat City away, Goons over 2 legs and Chavs at Wembley. A great start. And he'd turned around the poor league form that got Jol sacked. Probably up to 7th/8th while Berbs was still on it. That night of the 5-1 over Goons is one of my best WHL memories.

It wasn't his fault that Berbs checked out from about late March onwards. Maybe you missed his body language once his agent had hawked him to MUFC? Ramos was doubly shafted by that - the player leaving and then the Levy brinkmanship to get more dosh out of MUFC and so no chance of a preseason with Pav.

Fucks sake. You're just making stuff up now. Lies, lies, lies.

Well yes that's one side of the story, he was shafted with the Berbatov thing and then Keane fucking off, the problem is that he didn't like Defoe and Defoe was open to staying until Ramos gave him the cold shoulder and he ended up leaving for Portsmouth. Poor management on his part because he tried to lay down and act like a disciplinarian, had he not have done that he would have still had Defoe the following season.

Secondly he didn't get on with Commoli and then started to ask the club for players like David Villa and Samuel Eto'o - we obviously couldn't afford them however that wasn't what he was bought in for, we bought him in to get the best out of the ctop ot talent that Redknapp eventually benefited from . He also had Modric and Bale in his team and totally mis-managed them, he ended up alienating a lot of the players and they got pissed off with him and stopped playing for him.

He was a really good tactician though but generally an arsehole who couldn't manage Premier League players.

Not on the wind up or anything.

I can totally understand why you're annoyed at the Joelinton handball/not handball. Letter of the law say it's not a handball, but had it been given I wouldn't have kicked up a fuss at all.

Joelinton's forearm is wayward, but there's no intention there. Not saying Joelinton isn't a... robust player, but he's not trying to leave one on him. Same as Solanke jumping into Dubravka. In a similar vein, we could easily have been given a penalty for the shoulder to the face of Gordon. Woolwich got punished for something similar against Brighton.

I think Burn's 'Handball' is more cut and dry. It's accidental, he's trying to move his hand out of the way, it strikes him, so give the foul, but no yellow card.

Thought Ange's reaction afterwards shows a man who knows his job is at risk and he's trying to deflect. Properly lost his head.
He never criticises the refs

There is no chance of us getting relegated and I'm not entertaining any nonsense around this idea. We have hit rock bottom and can only improve from here. A game every 3 days while missing up to 10 players for the past 6 weeks has been crazy. This period was always going to go this way and thankfully its over now! The players are slowly going to start coming back and we'll be a much stronger team for the rest of the season. Its too late to save the league so we are in the luxurious position of being able to now go all out for the cups and just accept finishing midtable (who cares if we finish 8th or 14th).

If we do finish midtable and don't win any cups then Ange is gone in May. Simple as that. But in the meantime this is where we are at, and I'm expecting big improvements in performance and results once we get close to a fully fit squad again.
10 players please name all 10 that have been missing for which games. Luxurious position ffs! So what are dippers in then if we are in luxurious pos?

For everyone who is going crazy at me for this idea of binning off the league to win cups. Here is some Context.

Man United 23/24. FA Cup champions. Finished 8th in the league.
West Ham 22/23. Europa Conference Champions. 14th in the league.
Woolwich 19/20. FA cup champions.Finished 8th in the league.
Chelsea 11/12. Champions League champions. Finished 6th in the league.

Its a huge advantage if you can rotate in the league and target the cups. None of the above teams planned to do that at the start of the season but it just happened. Its never done by design. We'd much rather be up near the top competing for the top 4 but we are not. But what this does do, is give us a huge advantage now in the cups because we may aswell prioritise them games. Just like the 4 teams I mentioned above. There is plenty more examples of Liverpool and Chelsea having these type of seasons before. We have always been a club who has put top 4 ahead of everything else. Well this season for the first time in my lifetime, we can try doing it the other way around!

And before people shout me down. Just remember we have knocked City and United out of the cup already and should be on course to qualify for last 16 of EL. No matter how bad you think we are, just remember how bad those 4 teams above were them seasons and what they went onto win! This is a massive opportunity which we might now get again. Because guess what? The priority next season will be the league again and trying to get back into the top 4.
FA cup champions surely you don’t follow English football 😀

Haven’t b’mouth , Brighton and a few others plenty of players injured?

So what? Our squad depth is shit, so only a few injuries is a problem. Who really gives a fuck about other teams?

Richy, Odobert and Moore been out for months.
All of them would normally get minutes, which keeps others rested and fresher.

Johnson, Solanke, Son are being relied on too much as the only other option is Werner. Lankshear not fancied for whatever reason.

This causes fatigue and players to not play to their highest level, miss passes and chances that are normally easy.

Which other teams are regularly having to play 2 newcomers to the PL as their main choice CBs, and are only 18 and 22 Y/o. Gray at 18 is not even a CB. We have 4 CBs out ffs. Romero, VDV, Davies and Dragusin, who if just the bug should be back soon. So 3 long terms there though. I don't know of any other teams with such concentrated injuries. Now our main left back out for months too.

We have hit rock bottom and can only improve from here.
Oh really? We're in 12th a point ahead of MUFC and SPAM. Seen the upcoming fixtures? We are very likely being pushed further down the table. Spam are pulling the trigger on Loppy while we carry on with our dud.

NB - they've lost FEWER matches than we have this season.

This period was always going to go this way and thankfully its over now!
Oh! That's all right then! Phew!

If we do finish midtable
We've dropped 11 places in the league since the initial honeymoon. Since then? Well it looks like every other PL manager has worked Ange out. So - other managers are suddenly going to cut us some slack?

There's a trend here going back 14 months, and it's worse than mid table. Sorry to break it to you.

Just remember we have knocked City and United out of the cup already
You have seen who we're up against next? Over 2 matches? And in the final it would be a team who've doubled us already this season or another one who probably will have done in the next week or so?

and should be on course to qualify for last 16 of EL

there's your evidence under Ange

The EL is our get out of jail card this season, but under Ange it'll be wasted.

THEN FUCKING PLAY ACCORDINGLY NOT FUCKING KAMIZAZI

How long did we hold onto a lead v Barcodes? 2 fucking minutes because the keeper rolled the ball out and we lost possession.

In the first minute v Dippers FORSTER PASSED THE BALL TO THEM IN OUR BOX.

This is on Ange. Luncatic tactics.

Kinsky coming in will help... he looks made for how we want to play. It doesn't matter who is on the pitch we will continue in this way, at least now we seem to have signed a GK who can handle this. He looks to have far better distribution too, so going long we should retain possession.
I agree we should be a little more canny sometimes, don't always go short and fast.. take a second to analyze and go long sometimes. The handball was dodgy though, nobody can convince me otherwise. There are lots of laws in football that are not stringently followed, but when its us, suddenly the noble ref / var want to bring up the law and enforce it properly.

100% correct. That is all on the manager. It will never change and that’s why he’ll lose his job. I love Ange’s attitude to do it a certain way because he believes in it what he does but he’s in the most unforgiving league in the world where even the worst team will hurt you if you play suicide football. As you said,we held the lead for two minutes then basically give them the game through stupidity within those two minutes. It’s tough to watch because you can see it coming. I’d still be worried playing that way with Xavi,Inuesta and Busquets in our midfield 🤣

Vicario, Romero, VDV, Davies, Bentncur, Richarlison, Moore, Odobert are the 8 players who have missed nearly every game for the last 2 months. Then Udogie and Forster both missed the weekend so there is your 10.It wasn't that hard really. We also have Maddison and Sarr suspended this week. Werner, Son and Solanke missed some games during that period too! So we have been down atleast 8 players every game, and plenty of times its been 10!

Luxurious was clearly the wrong word as its rattled so many of you. I'm just saying that for the first time since 07/08, we are not in the race for European spots so can actually focus on going full strenght in the cups and treat the league as a secondary competition. Because next year we'll be back to going all out for top 4 while we rotate in the cups! To me thats really obvious but for some reason its rattled so many of you!

yeah look if your worried about falling behind United and West Ham in the league then I can't help you. For me I'm happy to just bin off the league and go all out for the cups. If we finish the season in 14th or 15th then Ange is obviously going to get sacked anyway so why stress now. I only care about the cups this season. Thats where I'm at. Ange will be gone in MAy anyway unless he finishes top half of the league and wins a cup and right now thats looking unlikely on both fronts

it doesn’t need to be both mate.

We can go hard for EL and Cups but still climb the table. People love the drama but we have been better than Wham and United this year despite our worst results in years. When we return to the mean in terms of results, we’ll probably be somewhere around 8th.
