My advice, not that you have asked for it! Is to simply ignore those posters who simply are on this forum just to hurl abuse. They wake up in the morning, get their box of mansize (ironic) tissues by their lap top, open up the forum and bang away, literally!

Good point, thanks. By a rule I don't and haven't ignored anyone, because I am here to debate and exchange opinions, even if we sometimes do get highly charged or emotional about the team and club. I suppose you don't know what people are going through outside of here, but yeah some people definitely have a bit of a anger or attitude problem. LIke, how can you be that angry this early in the morning? Haha.

Haha. You've had a mare here "fella". I am sure you'll look back and be embarrassed at this little episode of yours. FWIW you are also saying people who agree with me are brainless as well. Maybe you should have a look in the mirror and question who is the real loathsome one. Espeically when you act so pathetic over a strangers football opinions. 😁

I know you want the last word, but you aren't going to have it. And yes, those posters who did agree with you ARE brainless :)

I'm definitely not embarrassed, and I'm glad I've called you out

Now sit down and be quiet. My DM's are open so feel free to send me a profuse private apology. I'll gladly accept it and allow you to move on, humbled.

I'm one of those that stops posting after our recent losses. I don't feel the need to rant on about my disappointment, and am not interested in the toxic attacking that happens on here regardless of the result. It's simply unending when we lose or draw.

I get that different posters use the site for different reasons, with some needing to vent. That I don't really have an issue with. What I do have an issue with is that it's not about venting for a number of posters, it's about attacking others on here they don't like, just because they have a different view or emotional reaction.

I come on here when we win because, in the main, it's a happier place where we can have a bit of happy banter, celebrating a win for the team I love.

Ask yourself this, which type of poster do you prefer to see in here?

Now this is an excellent post.

I hear you! I have just decided not to feed their obvious need for attention.

Sigh. Eye roll.

When your having a go at the guy for a stance he's had since day 1 of being here and trying to say he's only saying it cos he won one game, then it sure looks like you're trying to find a new stick to beat him with.

Yawn. Burp.

It's not because of one victory against Liverpool.
  • October 2023: "I think I’m on record saying I’ve never really been a fan of [VAR] since it’s come in, not for any other reason than I think it just really complicates areas of the game that I thought were pretty clear in the past. But, I can see at the same time why it was inevitable that technology would come in, but I guess we have to deal with it. The biggest problem I think we fail to grasp is that no form of technology is going to make the game errorless. We used to understand that errors were part of the game, including officiating errors. You know, you have to cop it sometimes, some people cop it better than others, but that was part of the game. The game is literally littered with historical refereeing decisions that weren’t right, but we all accepted weren’t right and we all accepted that was part of the game because we’re all human beings. But, I think people are under the misconception that VAR is going to be errorless. So much of are game isn’t factual, it’s down to interpretation and we’re still human beings and going to make mistakes, the same way managers make mistakes and the same way players make mistakes. So, I think when you put such a high bar on something, invariably it’s going to fail. So if people were thinking VAR was going to be something at some point that’s perfect, that’s never going to happen."
  • November 2023: "I don't like it - I could be a lone voice as I'm told that's the way forward. With VAR intervention it just felt like a lot of standing around. At some point, we have to accept the referee's decision. This constant erosion of referees' authority, this is what the game is going to get: they will not have any authority, it is going to get diminished and we are going to be in the control of someone a few miles away watching a TV screen."
  • April 2024: "The game is refereed somewhere else, not the stadium... it's why I don't celebrate goals any more. It's a shame, I don't like it, but I've got to accept it like everyone else."
Also he's under investigation for his "fair and even playing field" comments the other day and took this as a chance to clarify that he wasn't implying that the referees were biased.

Sure.
So why he is also bizarrely claiming he is the 1st manager to loudly complain about VAR??

"Especially in this country where you guys think you’re custodians of the game. You’ve got a song that says: ‘It’s coming home.’ This is your game. And yet it takes an Aussie from the other side of the world to be the one that’s most conservative about change"

Maybe you can let him know he is managing us, Spurs, not the National team.
Other mangers, more successful than him , have a long history of vehemently criticising VAR. Shit mangers have also criticised VAR.
So either your cuck is even more ignorant than he looks or he is lying. Pick one.

Let Tuchel worry about the national team...and Ange can worry about us at least winning 2 league games in a row whilst also delivering that trophy he always wins in his second season.

It's almost like we are seeing the fruits of him blindly sticking to his principles with 30% of his first team available, especially when Dragusin, Archie Gray and a kid in goal who had been in the country keep a clean sheet against the top scorers in Europe.

I'm Ange in, until it kills me.

We play different system than the dippers so why would we use players similar to ones that suit theirs. Son and maddison esp Son havent exactly set the world alight. Maddison been decent at times but Son has largely been poor.
My point is that if the best player in the league score high on a metric, there is probably some relationship with the metric and how good he is performing. Especially if the metric is based on efficiency and creativity which I think all can agree are crucial metrics in football.

What criteria do you think is better to use? Something that is objective.

Regardless of whether we want to play like the dippers or not, you can't seriously mean that you think it's a good idea to exclude the most efficient and creative player? If so, what do you want out of a player? Meters covered? Passes made? Direction of passes?

Then you should also prove that there is a link between that metric and the top player of the league. The metric I used is smart because it combines two crucial factors. And if you look at the players on that list, all at the top could be considered world class. There are no random players at the top.

So you can write that Maddison and Son haven't set the world alight but that is an entirely subjective statement. Football is not a voting contest of who's most popular on a forum. Football is about scoring and not conceding goals. To achieve that you want to be both efficient when chances are created, but also creative to actually create the chance to begin with. One without the other is often not very useful.

Our ranking is 1) Son 2) Madders 3) Solanke.

Not starting with all three seems pretty daft.

The team finally plays how some of us have been crying out for under Ange for over 18 months.

Solid at the back, balanced but still attacking philosophy. No more embarrassing Ange ball where we get battered and look a mess in defence.

Now let's hope Ange can make this a consistent thing before we start giving each other BJs.

If Ange can adapt, with the players still behind him, he might be able to turn it around. And I would be delighted if he does because it will show I was wrong about him and he can make us successful. Ultimately that is what we all want.

There's no way though that Wednesday night makes up for all the shite we have seen for such a long time under him. He still urgently needs a consistent sequence of wins in the league, let's not pretend we haven't been dire for a long time there.

He has an opportunity to get a bit of momentum. An easy tie in the FA Cup, we should absolutely batter them, and then we can move on to the NLD where we need to put in a performance and get a result. There is no guarantee we will get a result, so Everton (who will likely have a new manager bounce which is just typical) and the following league games are absolutely crucial.

If we do lose the NLD, he absolutely will need to win at Everton. Otherwise it will be the worst run of results in modern history. I can't see on the basis of recent results, how he can afford to lose the next two or three league games, Woolwich, Everton and Leicester, surely he needs a minimum of 4 points which would be absolutely the bottom of the barrel return to stay in the job.

I think Ange is well aware he's on the verge of the sack, which is why he is making comments about 'hoping he is around to see Gray and Bergvall play in a few years' and he made a couple of comments prematch about he knows results have been unacceptable, I am sure the club have told him this. I feel he knows he is on borrowed time and it really is now or never. Clubs who are around us in the league are sacking managers because the league campaign has been below par, so why should Ange be any different?

If he can get some results in the league, buy some time until Romero and VDV return, he might just turn it around. But honestly, I still don't see it, because even with those two playing we still lost, often.

If he is to survive, Wednesday night needs to be the blueprint from now on. No more ridiculous Ange ball where we look like conceding 5 goals every game.

It felt so good to win, and we have all been feeding off scraps as far as that has been concerned for a long time. We all want Spurs to win, if Ange does that and shows he isn't out of his depth, no complaints. Last night was fantastic, but it needs to be backed up. We could still get battered at Anfield, at Woolwich and Wednesday night will be pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

So if anyone gets carried away about Ange again based on Wednesday, that's upto you, but don't start trying to give it to people who have had real concerns about Ange for a very long time based on very poor results for a very long time. We need to see a hell of a lot of improvement in results before I even get back on the fence let alone think Ange should stay.
Definitely get that you’re sceptical
I don’t completely agree with everything you’ve said, but I do think it’s a pretty fair way of expressing how you feel about the current situation.
From my time zone (gmt+8) it’s always been pretty fked to try and catch spurs live. Even worse now it’s all payTV - add to that the stress of the high line (beautiful when it’s on song)…
I hope he can turn it around too, at least get some silverware this season and pump the Scum int the NLD on the way

Interesting username. Love your work.

So do you think He-Man could be gay??
Does he have to be gay to be a gay icon?
Cause I'm sure I heard he definitely was the latter.

Stick him on ignore like most others do.
Can only assume he's a buddy of admin, as a lot of posters have been properly banned for less in the years I've been around these parts.

To win matches your team has to have a balance and Ange found a good balance against Liverpool. We don’t have to play that way in every game, it should be adjustable depending on who we have available, the opponent, the occasion etc. That’s what every manager does at this level.

If he’s learned that lesson and will be more flexible from now on, we will win more games and Ange has a chance to turn it around. Him refusing to adjust despite half the team being out has cost us our league season but if he can win a cup he can still become a legend of the club.

The win on Wednesday meant a whole lot more than tonking a crippled Man City who were about to fall off a cliff, or a United team that were trying to get the manager sacked etc.
Beating big names is not the same as beating good teams.
Liverpool are a good team. That's the first time in a while we beat a good team in good form without an injury crisis or 2 players sent off.

without a doubt the best win since hes been here. funny that it was by playing a far more balanced way....

It's also worth noting that all the things those clinging on to the hope Ange is the man were non existent on Wednesday.
We had....
Less possession
Less touches in their box
Less shots
Less shots on target
Less blocked shots
Lower passing accuracy
Won less ariel duels
Had more saves to make

When we lose, we often win those stats and the fans will point to them like they excuse the loss.
The don't. Scoring more the an opposition matters.
