Match Tottenham vs Tamworth | FA Cup 3rd Round

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Whichever way you look at it, bottom half of the league with 10 defeats already, and coming within a squeak of having the worst result in this football club's history ain't fucking great, mate.
And Woolwich going out to United doesn’t dress it up any differently.
We were fucking embarrassing.
Woolwich going out to a 10 man United team does make it feel a little bit better.
We were shit but we move on.

There is NO narrative involved...just simple facts compiled into a statistic. Narrative would be trying to stick these simple facts into some larger explanation...which neither this tweet nor I have done. Narrative was neither our opponents nor our enemy today, a bunch of West Midlands chimney sweeps and our play was, respectively.
Nah. The narrative is the whole ' non-league team take big team to extra time....blah blah blah'.

I'd wager loads of non-league teams have earned a replay in the same period.

Rules changed this season just in time to hit us over the head with it.

Yep. The revisionism on here is mental. Must have been watching a different game.

We weren't great. Left ourselves open to the possibility of a smash and grab but on the whole we weren't really troubled.

And even though we were rubbish up front, we still had the better chances to win it.
Hooray

We had a couple of chances against a bunch of brickies and plumbers

Bring out the champagne

Still just facts...we are merely the victims of our own ineptitude...it's embarrassing and no amount of attempted deflection will change that...

You are more than free to find this out...but first define "loads" and "big team"...if you are saying big team = big six (or teams that finished in the top 6 for that particular season) then you won't find more than a handful (beyond the four mentioned) if any in the same time frame...

The football universe is always conspiring to victimize us, isn't it?

I'm not embarrassed. Would have been if we lost. But we didn't.

And I never said it's a conspiracy. Just pointing out that they can only say that 'fact' due to this season's rule change.

Was fucked off

Surely putting Lankshear instead of Werner would have increased both quality AND desire!

Was hoping Ange would make that change on about 25-30 minutes to really make a statement.

Also a shame Kulu and Son had to come on. Really felt they needed the rest and should’ve stayed home

Assuming that Dorrington and Lankshear didn't play so they weren't cup tied or injured before going out on loan.

I wasn't able to watch this (lucky me if this forum is anything to go by), but I dipped in and out.
IIRC, in 1991, the 3rd round game was against a lowly Blackpool, and we scraped through that one.
I'm choosing to see that as a lucky omen.

That was before I found out we've got Villa in the next round!

Where are they going to be loaned? Going to be a championship team at best. So realistically we’re talking maybe 1 or 2 games at most (appreciate some lower league teams make it to quarter finals and beyond but statistically it’s very likely they’re not going to one of those clubs)

Dorrington looks set for Aberdeen and Lankshear I guess will need minutes if we end up signing a forward so somewhere like the Championship hopefully.

But if either played tonight and got injured those loans fall through and they lose half a season of development.

He's absolutely hilarious. The happy clapper to out-clap them all.

Literal amateurs. One of them was doing deliveries the night before the game. Most people on here probably know someone who could get a kick for them.

Utterly embarrassing and concerning that we needed extra time to beat them.
They were obviously more motivated to win and you have to respect that!
