We will probably get City. We always do.

How do they run onto a long ball if the other team is sitting deep? Where's the space?
Watching Real Madrid this season, they seem to try and draw the opponent press onto them and get them to over-commit. Then the ball goes back to a CB who plays it long over the top to Vini or Mbappe. That's at least one of the ways I have seen a successful team try to break the deep block.

Other than that, pounding the box with long shots and aerial crosses until you finally break the deadlock has always been a good method.

A scrappy win, with some awful performances. It's time to draw a line through the Timo Werner experiment, he was awful today up front, improved slightly when moved out wide, but he has zero confidence, he is afraid of anything that's near 50 50 and he is now in the way of developing players like Moore. I can only hope he stayed on today ahead of Moore due to Moores lack of match fitness and not our managers awareness.

Johnson, not a whole lot better, again anything 50 50 sees him run a mile, yes he scored but overall that side of the pitch was awful, not helped by a poor Porro display also.

Dragusin really poor too, how is he so poor in the air, surely a man his size and strength should be dominating the aerial battles, lucky not to pick up a second yellow with some very rash challenges late on. Spence, playing out of position, looked twice the player when he came on.

I think Ange got a lot wrong today, his subs baffle me at times, but he certainly didn't get the best out of a very expensive squad today against inferior opposition.

On a bright note Mr Kinsky looks the part yet again and when Vicario returns he might have a job getting his place back. Reguilon played well also, especially considering the lack of minutes he has had.

Tough away draw against Villa, but we are still in it, unlike that shower of gooner scum 🤣🤣

Werner is like a worse Son at ST. LW only for me.

If only, Blakey..... If only.

So you think rather than alter opinion when evidence and facts contradict that opinion, one should just double down and stick to it?

Go and find me an outrageous post I’ve made about Maddison that you disagree with.

I’m not coming out with hyperbolic bollocks about his every fucking kick, like the idiots I was criticising. I used to think he was a bit of a wankhorn (not a major one) but whilst I still think his creative ability was over rated I think he works hard, does good things and is still our most offensively productive player. The facts (or graphs as you want to call them) support that.

Tough place to go for us given what we're used to, players showed character, magic of the cup and all that. Gave their lot something to crow about but we turned it on when we needed to. Think Ange fucked up not realising that it didn't go to a replay, he was just trying to get them a payday, but we got there in the end. Great bloke. Top man.
