Match Tottenham vs Tamworth | FA Cup 3rd Round

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can see both sides of this. I believe that Levy (and Scholar before him) is a genuine Spurs supporters, but businessmen first and foremost. Therefore, some of their decisions will be determined by what's good for the business side of things.
And I agree that it is probably Lewis in the background who is still making the big decisions in respect of ENIC.

I'm sure he thinks anyone else would have done a significantly worse job given the financial restrictions the club is run under.
He imposes the financial restrictions himself. We have the lowest revenue to squad investment ratio through choice. We have an unparalleled, unprecedented amount of FFP wriggle room because he chooses to impose financial restrictions which prevents us from competing with our peers.

There's really no evidence of this, though - nor the counter, TBF. He's the chairman, he serves at Lewis' behest. It's not his money to spend freely.

Now, you may believe he agrees fully with the financial directives - that's fair. I suspect he mostly does.

But I do think, given the freedom to do as he wishes, he would increase spending ratios closer to Liverpool levels.

Not sure it would matter, so long as he stays involved in the football matters. I think he's not very good at that side of things and we'll have similar struggles after Lewis fucks off.

God we managed to make a right meal of this.

Werner and Johnson didn’t really add anything, why Lankshear didn’t start is beyond me.
Other than the youngsters none of the other starting players were up for it.
Embarrassing that it took the likes of Son, Solanke and Kulusesvki to get anything out of this in ET.

Fair play to Tamworth, a lot of players will have memories that will last them a lifetime.

If you are going away to a non league club, you know they will tackle hard and be physical where they can. Such a lightweight front three was wrong . They needed a focal point and someone who could make their presence known.
Ange made the same mistake at Ibrox

I said as much before both games

In amongst all the usual “rest Kulu, Solanke etc etc” guff on this forum

Yeah.rest the only players with fight

Tremendous idea

Ange absolutely made some mistakes but the 11 international players (bar one or two) that started the game had to get the fucking job done, and bar maybe gray and Bissouma they were all expecting an easy day
So that attitude is on the coach!!!!!

Watch BBC’s programme on Ferguson and contrast with Ange.

We do NOT have to pay more to get a better attitude. We need a better coach and some players who give everything.

There is a direct correlation between trophies and wage expenditure, it’s literally a stat, but Teflon Dan will never pay what’s necessary to get the best players, never has and never will
I expected this answer - see my previous post. It's not his money to spend freely.

Anyway, doesn't matter. We're gonna win the cup treble and he'll be the 2nd most successful Tottenham chairman ever.

I made this mistake for Galatasaray away and never again. We have proven we can't rotate at all or rely on squad players, even at Newcastle away etc.

Furthermore, when we do "rotate" midweek, our first team still gets more tired/injured having to bail the kids out at the end of the game, and we still drop points at the weekend as well anyway so we don't even rotate properly and just lose momentum. It's utterly pointless in a team trying to build consistency.

Moreover, Johnson and Werner are always better off the bench when we've already had first team quality on the pitch and the legs of the opposition are gone and not expecting the change. It's called game management.

Well put

The players who have fight:

- spence
- Bergvall
- Gray
- Kulu
- Solanke
- Moore

Possibly Sarr, Romero, Drag and VdV. And Vic and Kinsky

Rest are guff tbh. No nuts. Should be binned. But especially Werner, Son (legend that he is) and Johnson.

They actually seem to get more adrenaline from what they see as an opportunity to mock or ridicule supporters who are sceptical or critical of our overall performances ........Than they do of the win itself.
A strange breed. It has to be said.
Aw you're back too!
