Match Tottenham vs Tamworth | FA Cup 3rd Round

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I expected this answer - see my previous post. It's not his money to spend freely.

Anyway, doesn't matter. We're gonna win the cup treble and he'll be the 2nd most successful Tottenham chairman ever.
Nobody is expecting him to spend his money. We're talking about the money the football club generates.
And it's Levy / ENIC's decision to invest a lower proportion / percentage of that money in the playing squad than every other Premier League club.

The crux of our disagreement is that you say Levy sets the ratio, I suspect it's Lewis that gives him explicit financial parameters to operate within.

Until Lewis fucks off, we'll never really know.

He's absolutely hilarious. The happy clapper to out-clap them all.

Literal amateurs. One of them was doing deliveries the night before the game. Most people on here probably know someone who could get a kick for them.

Utterly embarrassing and concerning that we needed extra time to beat them.

On any given day a team can raise their levels so high because they know it's likey the only time in their lives they will play against such opposition, for the lower league / non league this rings even more true.
Brentford with their outstanding home form against PL opposition messed up against Plymouth! Couldn't even score!
Football ain't so easy to predict, I had a feeling it would be tough but we did make harder work than I thought. The 80-90 mins range that was particularly uncomfortable viewing!

I think the pitch also made our guys play rather within themselves to avoid injury, which thankfully they did! 🙏🏼

Then LOL at anyone expecting a goalfest with Johnson Werner and Moore (first game after 3 months ffs) up front. Johnson offers zero creativity, Werner is not a false 9 and Moore was well off it which is to be expected. He looked much better second half tbf. I would have preferred Lankshear to play, but we don't know what is going on behind the scenes, maybe he lost confidence after the red 🤔 must be something preventing Ange from giving him any minutes.

Anyway we got the job done and now have a normal fixture against the peaky blinders which ain't nothing to fear.

Tbh we just gave Tamworth fans and the club itself one of their all-time highlights and didn't go out.

Was fucking ugly to watch but whatever. Job done in the end.

I don't disagree, but none of those Tamworth fans will remember anything outstanding about our players.

That is a shame given the gulf in talent, and the fact that we had a lot of "first team players" on the pitch at some point.

A scrappy win, with some awful performances. It's time to draw a line through the Timo Werner experiment, he was awful today up front, improved slightly when moved out wide, but he has zero confidence, he is afraid of anything that's near 50 50 and he is now in the way of developing players like Moore. I can only hope he stayed on today ahead of Moore due to Moores lack of match fitness and not our managers awareness.

Johnson, not a whole lot better, again anything 50 50 sees him run a mile, yes he scored but overall that side of the pitch was awful, not helped by a poor Porro display also.

Dragusin really poor too, how is he so poor in the air, surely a man his size and strength should be dominating the aerial battles, lucky not to pick up a second yellow with some very rash challenges late on. Spence, playing out of position, looked twice the player when he came on.

I think Ange got a lot wrong today, his subs baffle me at times, but he certainly didn't get the best out of a very expensive squad today against inferior opposition.

On a bright note Mr Kinsky looks the part yet again and when Vicario returns he might have a job getting his place back. Reguilon played well also, especially considering the lack of minutes he has had.

Tough away draw against Villa, but we are still in it, unlike that shower of gooner scum 🤣🤣

You post this from home, or an A&E department in Tamworth.

To be fair, we sold our superstar in Kane and hold on to the likes of Austin instead for non-footballing reasons.

Also, when a 32 year old plumber is showboating as the last man, it actually proves that the average fan overestimates the gap between the multi-millionaire superstar and the amateur punter who dreams.

For me, it was a shame that they did not get a replay, as they earnt it.

They were up against plumbers. No literally, the other team had plumbers in it. Usually you get to say that as an exaggeration and yet here it’s factually accurate .. amazing.

You mention Plymouth. A 2nd tier, fully professional side. They’re a world away from Tamworth.

There is every fair expectation that a team featuring a large number of players worth in the tens of millions should very comfortably dispatch a side of delivery workers and tradesmen. But maybe I’m just entitled.

Think it was 200m worth of Spurs players on the pitch, by all accounts it was an embarrassing display.

Yeah it’s absolutely baffling that people are trying to pretend needing extra time to beat literal amateurs is anything other than really embarrassingly poor stuff.

We had to bring on a 65m striker off the bench. Meanwhile they were subbing on carpenters. The gap between the two teams is a fucking chasm, they’re 16th in the National League FFS.

Moaning about how 40 million Brennan Johnson isn’t creative so we couldn’t possibly expect lots of goals against Tamworth is absolutely insane. The guy up against £40m Spain international Porro works in fucking Zara FFS.

You were on after the Liverpool game saying the win was « meaningless », « a false dawn », insulted our fans and players and then said nothing until after the Tamworth game.

Your contributions to the forum are indistinguishable from an opposition fan.

See? That’s why I took a break, responding to someone like you without being hugely insulting and offensive is almost impossible. I’d rather just step away.

Sounds like a very good idea if your only contribution on here is endless negativity towards the players, manager, team, and other posters. What are you even getting from it?

Take up yoga.

I don’t like you so this is pointless. If I saw you in real life I would tell you to fuck off and leave me alone, so I’ll just do the same on here and hope you get the message.

Go spout happy clappy nonsense and try to wind up someone else, elsewhere. Your schtick just bores me now.

It was honestly quite perplexing, I had a bad feeling about this game, and wasn’t expecting us to go on a city like 8-0 rampage, but we performed worse than I expected.

I thought we’d use this as an opportunity to rest some players by starting Lankshear and Dorrington. Instead Gray played 120 minutes.

We consistently struggle to play with any cohesion when facing opposition that punch upwards. It didn’t help that they played a low block, which we’re equally as shit at countering, but you’d expect given the gulf in quality we should’ve had this sorted by half time.
