Call me stoopid, but I STILL don't quite fully grasp the idea that ENIC/LEVY can't see that running/owning a SUCCESSFUL, TROPHY WINNING team ON the pitch, would make them even MORE money off it??

Why do you think clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man Utd have SUCH global 'brand' appeal? (The type of world club domination that I assume Lewis/Levy are after)

It's not JUST because of Ronaldo and Messi (though they wouldn't even CONSIDER coming to Spurs)
...it's because of previous, and current sustained successes ON the pitch, that have cemented their name or "brand" across the globe.

Man Utd are a shadow of the team they were 20 years ago, yet STILL get 70k plus fans in each week...
Give it 20 more years of mediocrity, and even their Glory Fans will have moved on, or given up by then.

WE are trying to create a global super brand, but without the on field success to back it up! ...if anything we GACK IT UP!

Glory fans and tourists will only align themselves to a failing model for so long, before THEY ALSO get bored with the lack of success, and eventually stop coming, and go back to the TRULY SUCCESSFUL CLUBS! Y'know, like PSG, AL-NASSER, LA GALAXY!!!! (I'm being sarcastic, OBVS!) But glory fans gonna glory!

THAT'S what's gonna hit Levy hard... Not a load of yellow balloons released at random times during a game!

We need success to breed success... Winning trophies will raise our profile even more, surely?
We're currently 8th in the richest club list....
...and that's with ONE trophy to show for it in 20+ years.... IMAGINE our potential global standing if we DID start winning something?

WHY can't ENIC see that? They've given us a fragile glass ceiling of mediocrity, which we're all too happy to meekly bounce off, like a poxy yellow balloon...

But if they REALLY put their minds (and financial clout) to it, then that ceiling is THERE TO BE BROKEN....

...and then the Sky (Sports) is the limit!

Nothing is guaranteed in football But to go the extra yard to be ambitious is costly and high risk , a lot higher risk than property development

Aye in their eyes they have pulled off one of the greatest wins in money making ever {guesstimate of £20m to £3.5bn which would hardly get a mention if they had overseen a really good title winning team on the pitch

Before Larry David puts this in his special file I am going to check the PL table to make sure I'm not talking out of my arse

I prefer when you say it in Daniels voice

You see I agree with what you say regarding penny pinching, I don't think we have to spend a lot to get better , some of our better players over the years have been quite cheap.
But you have to have the right organisation to buy players when they are needed, we need to buy youth and experienced, some potential some proven. We require evolution not revolution every few years.
Levy/ ENIC have completely failed in this regard , the playing style lurches one way then another, the complete lack of strategy is a disgrace.
Please don't tell me that its all sorted now with Lange and Munn as we have heard all that before, going back to Arnessen, Comolli, Paraticci and rest.
You would have thought that after a quarter of century things would be in place to allow us to compete but as we can see in the last few seasons that is simply not the case.
The club is being run (football wise) poorly and quite honestly it is amazing how Levy turns up every game. The man has no shame.

People would say he has no balls if he didn't turn up every game. He is there, people can protest, boo the team, show whatever emotion they want at the stadium in the knowledge that the chairman will see it and hear it. Say what you want but I am convinced most fans would at least respect that over a chairman that hides away not having the cahunas to show his face.

I said this in another thread..... rebuilding isn't easy nowadays, it's not quick, it takes time and a lot of luck.

How long have United been rebuilding for since ferguson? Chelsea have been less than convincing for 3 seasons now despite spending how much? City have no bought well at all the last couple of years and are paying the price for it now. Liverpool are going to struggle without Salah.... there is a reason he plays every single game... and when he is off his game, as he was after AFCON last season, they struggle.

None of this is to say we shouldn't be doing better, we should. Unfortunately the more experienced players we have in our team are not bringing rhe stability we need, but I do not think our overall recruitment the last few years has been as bad as people make out. We VERY clearly have a desire to buy some of the best young talent

But who in their right mind (other than Tottenham fans) would WANT to stay in a hotel right next to the ground, unless it was a Matchday....?
I wouldn't venture anywhere near the place on a non-matchday, and even then, it's become a slog when the game IS on!

The hotel will generate the same amount of 'matchday' interest as Chick King or the No.8 pub...

Have you ever SEEN a queue outside Chick King on a weekday when there's no match on???

Bullseye 🎯

It shows why the pair got involved with football.......
What they hope to achieve from football .......
Their financial motivation from football........
......And therefore provides an insight as to why they've used one of the biggest names of the English Game and sodomised their fan base to their their own financial ends, while the club in question continues to be the perennial whipping boys of our 2 most bitter and hated rivals.
It’s also why they are not remembered fondly at the clubs they owned or part owned before us . If they had delivered success at some of their other clubs we might just be unlucky . However that is not the case, we are simply the normal failure on a bigger scale over a longer period for us fans . Meanwhile a bigger financial win for ENIC is taking place .

The ENIC supporters remind me of the crazy bitch who marries a serial killer on death row . OK so he murdered 49 women before me , but with me it’s different he really loves me .

That’s my point. Constantly posted on here as some kind of Levy gotcha, when it’s got fuck all to do with us.

There was no passion to buying Rangers. Just financial. Buying us? Maybe the same. Maybe Levy is a lifelong fan. None of us know.

Plenty to anger up the blood about right now without making shit up.
Even if Levy wasn't a fan when he bought the team you have to assume that by now he has developed at least some form of fandom.

He's one of if not the most present chairmen in the entire league. He's at every game home and away when some clubs rarely see their chairmen/owners at every home game.

Lewis however I totally can see as seeing us just as an investment.

Or constantly at the training ground , that’s not fandom it’s megalomania with a side order of insecurity and control freakery in my opinion.

For clarity , I am not a psychiatrist 😃

The fact we STILL haven't sold the naming rights to the stadium (after 5 years) is also telling...

It suggests two things; either Levy and Lewis are simply greedy bastards and are holding out for a ridiculous sum...

ORRRRE, companies aren't exactly queuing round the block to be associated with a Stadium/Club that doesn't feel like it's gonna see any silverware!!

Give it a few Trophies and regular participation in the CL again, and they'll soon start hitching their skirts to be associated with us!
(You see where I'm going with this...?)

Speculate to Accumulate!

If only ENIC could fully comprehend that!

I agree with the speculate to accumulate but I think naming rights are different now . When we started on the stadium build it was a great opportunity. However we didn’t nail a deal in advance or even on completion , ( one’s own personal bias will generate an opinion as to why . I think Levy overplayed it but that I admit is a guess) . Now these kind of deals have nowhere near the same value as an advertising form in a social media world. I suspect any offer today is a fraction of what was attainable when the foundations went in .

I see this as another Levy feck up personally

I think it's a combination of both. Levy will obviously settle for nothing less than top dollar....But potential sponsors will not be prepared to pay it for a stadium primarily used by a football club that never wins.
Why would anyone pay big money to be associated with losers?

How do you know he’s constantly at the training ground? Last I read, which was a fair while ago, before Paratici’s ban, Levy hadn’t been near the training ground in months. Where have you heard this has changed?

Where did you hear that , because I admit my info is based on a couple of years go. I’ll admit to bias but unless someone knows better I don’t see him changing .
As I said, it was an article (possibly The Athletic?) back just as Paratici got banned. Think I referred to it on here at the time, but fucked if I’m going searching for it.

Was just intrigued how you knew Levy was always there. What he was doing there etc.
