Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Explains exactly why he has not been sacked here. He’s taking the blame for everything and is therefore the perfect pasty for the cold dead hands of Levy.

Someone should tell the wanker that accepting the blame for the situation being absolutely shit does not make the situation in anyway acceptable.

I’m pretty sure there’s about 100 factors behind Ange still being here.
Can’t be bothered to type it all. It’s like a whole essay!!
Would make a decent podcast.

Should hit up Flav!!

He was hired specifically to survive a moment like this. The club wanted a project and wanted to stick through with a set of attacking principles.

The idea being that consistency and stability would allow for the thing Levy has always wanted: to win while spending less than the competition.

Well, here we are.

I try to find the positives in it. Supporting Spurs keeps me humble and has taught me to never take anything for granted!

But apart from that there is no positives. Its been a miserable existence where any joy is quickly overrode by eternal misery. I look back on our champions league run in 2019 with fond memories, but then I remember how poor the final was and that crazy Sissoko handball and I'm straight back to misery. There is little to cling on to. I enjoy watching us play so treat it like a hobby but then when we lose I'm in a bad mood for a few days so none of it is worth it really. I try to enjoy the wins and make the most of them but I find I just feel like an idiot for getting my hopes up if I do start enjoying it.

True, we don't have much to shout about as Spurs fans but I try to celebrate the small victories

Like that time we sold Emerson Royal. A joyous occasion, almost brings a tear to the eye. Or that time Gary Linekar shat himself

Cherished memories

Personally I think it’s a barbed comment at anyone who is no longer at the club. Anyone who might be giving those interviews……a bit of a fuck you.

“You can do a million investigations and talk to anonymous sources but you don’t need to talk to anonymous sources you can talk to me. Every decision that is made is on me. I’m responsible for it. I’m the one that is guiding this. If you’re looking for a head on a stick take mine. But I am absolutely 100 per cent confident that we are in a much better place in all areas of the club today than we were when I started.”

I mean, I kind of like this. Responsibility is a ball that is passed very quickly in football, but he wants to keep hold of it. Got to admire that in someone. He’s going to die on his principles though unfortunately for him. A fine line between greatness and madness and all that.

If this chump turns it around now, it’s the greatest comeback since Lazarus.

Still not sure why he is crying about injuries when so much damage was done against Palace and Ipswich ( and Leicester also perhaps ) when at full strength. How much different would we feel if just those 7 points were added. Small margins etc. but certainly would not be crapping myself playing Leicester…

His comments today about being in a better place than this time last year are demented.

if we lose this one it has to be his last game, doesnt it?

Because he keeps on being asked about them!

I find Spurs fans dismissing our injury crisis purely for the fact you don't like the manager just uber weird, you literally sound like rival fans trying to play everything down.

No way has he actually said that

The usual response when mentioning the unprecedented amount of injuries is..

"But...but Ipswich and palace! "
cry baby GIF

Perfectly fine to not rate the manger, but it shouldn't destroy your IQ at the same time

The injuries don't absolve Ange of anything because they are due in large part to his playing style, training regimen and lack of rotation. Along with a fair slice of bad luck.

The Ipswich/Palace thing is fair to point out. As is our shocking form at the back end of last season with a fully fit squad.

Well, here we are.

We entered this season with effectively 17 senior outfield players. The lowest for a number of seasons.
At a time when EL games increased and the amount of injury time played has grown significantly too.

On paper you need more players. But we started with less than usual!!

Why?

Ange’s choice?
Decision by the people who have been put in charge of football?
Or by the board in a cost cutting exercise?

We kept hearing Ange was not someone Levy could boss around like that. He’s cone out saying everything is in his head. But is it? If we take him at face value he’s the architect of this mess.

And I’m not sure any manager would look at that number of players and our current level of injuries and want the Tottenham job right now. It’s a nightmare scenario.

It’s insane we started the season with so few senior players when we knew that Bentacour was also due to be out for a number of games.

It’s just negligence when you really look at it.

I’m not sure anyone knows who max robson is either!! (I think that’s his name anyway)
