Yep. Poch was very good at making half time changes. While we were at Wembley it felt like we were struggling in a lot of games in the first half only to come out after half time and score pretty quickly and then get on top and win games.
Thing that gets missed a lot I suspect is that the Wembley pitch (and modern pitches) are larger than the old WHL was. More ground to cover.

MOTD2 post match analysis is great. A perfect example of how he has hung a player, this time Bentancur, out to dry with his tactics. He is basically a one man midfield as the other two are so far up the pitch and he cant cover the ground in time back and forth across the pitch time and again.

Honestly, he is just so bad of a manager. Something else about how we are set up is highlighted time and again. And if the BBC can do it you can bet every PL club with all their coaching staff and analysists can do too. Hence why everyone keeps beating us!
Wow yeah, they absolutely eviscerated our tactics. Made me feel quite sorry for Bentancur who frankly has an impossible job:

Here he is dragged out to the wide to help Porro (who's constantly out of position, as our fullbacks always are) and leaves that huge gaping hole in front of our centre backs to be exploited. Here Ayew runs into the space and ends up having a shot in the box completely unmarked. And this was in the first half - foreshadowing later problems.

Later, for their first goal, Bentancur again has to come out wide to help Porro and leaves that huge gap again.

It's coaching. 1000% on the coach, this crap we're watching.

I think there was something wrong with Ndombele, honestly. I think he was lost in London, combination of culture shock, loneliness, and a fat paycheque. Seems to be doing alright again now that he's back home in France.

Agree on Conte, below Ange on my list. Set out to scam us from the beginning.
Ndombele seems like a complete headcase. Also has a strong narcissistic streak. That combined with an apparent complete lack of work ethic is pretty toxic. Still laughable that he requested a transfer away from the club the same summer he joined us, while apparently suffering under the delusion that Spurs was just a stepping stone to Barca or Madrid.

Fuck me...

AVB not worth sticking with...

:avbnaa:

Poch wasn't worth sticking with...

:pochwtf:

Mourinho wasn't worth sticking with...

:mourbye:

Nuno, 8 games was it, pretty meh but better than this, not worth it though...

:nunothumb:

Conte not worth sticking with...

:contehmm:

But oh no, don't risk rocking the boat by sacking the worst Manager in the club's PL history.

:ange-arms2:
It's just plain weird isn't it. I don't get it at all.

I wonder if it’s the optics of sacking the manager during an injury crisis is having some effect on pulling the trigger?

Sack him if the poor form continues once players are back and they may feel it looks less reactionary to the potential successor.

I’d take him back in a shot.

Fully understand others might disagree and I respect their opinion. The Chav stuff was a pity, but he works well with young players and his 4/2/3/1 is there on a plate.
I really didn't want him that summer two years ago. Because the second time round things are rarely as good, and it's hardly like his post Spurs career has been a roaring success - he's currently the USA coach ffs. But, beggars can't be choosers.

I guess the optics ideal is that the players return, we win a few to stave off relegation, finish our cup runs with some pride and then he can be sacked at the end of the season. The fear is if he somehow wins a cup. For me, it won’t paper over the cracks, but for some I’m sure it will.

Your remarks suggest a type of admiration for Levy as well as contempt for me; as someone who is prepared to at least attempt to dig this greedy, useless mother fucker out of the club I genuinely love and have supported since I was 7 years old.
Exactly what "attempts" have you made to dig him out of our club?

I'm genuinely interested to know here. I mean, you're on a Spurs forum, and I am assuming this isn't the only one you're on, so have you tried to garner some support on here or the other forums? Do you have a site where people can add their signatures to a petition to have him removed? Have you organised any kind of demonstration to let him know that he's no longer welcome?

Or are you just on here "digging" out other posters because they have a different viewpoint?

FWIW, I'm now of the opinion that ENIC need to go. They've taken us as far as they can really. I'll happily laud them for the good they've done for the club, but it's all for nought if it doesn't ALL translate to success on the pitch. I thought that was the end game, I no longer believe that now, and haven't for a while.

My hope now is firstly that their frugality, with the huge reduction is wage outlay and refusal to invest in elite players, is a precursor to a sale. Secondly, that we get an owner that has that ambition, without putting us either in the mire or leaving us open to legal action.

My fear is that they sell the club to another bunch like the Glazers, who milk our club like they've done to Utd, and I fear that is the more likely scenario.

Insane. But then look into it.

Conte - slagged off the clubs ambition
Mourinho - Had been sniffy and unhappy about transfers in public
Nuno - 10th choice and grumpy, fans never wanted him
Poch - Fallen out with Levy about the amazon documentry
Ange - Hopeless but a yes man being on best behaviour for a pay out

Like all tinpot dictators Levy needs subservience.
All I know is that that Nunu had 26 points in 18 games and we sacked him.
There is only one reason he is not sacked yet and its money.

He fired too many and has had too many bills to pay.
£13m pay off to Poch
£20m pay-off to Jose
£14m pay-off to Nunu
£51m pay-off to Conte
Since 2019 it is almost £100m wasted on fired managers.

Levy is trying to save some money here with Ange. I think if he keeps him until the end of this year the pay off is probably lower when the season end. As long as we don't get relegated its fine for Levy. Sucks for us hooray!!! ffs.
