Okafor is a v.good player imo.

Danjuma isn't a bad player...

The issue with Okafor is more his injury record. He looks broken already.

I guess Okafor and Tomori could be the Kulusevski and Bentancur of this window... both from the same Serie A club who want to clear out their squad.

Honestly, we have Odobert coming back with a right foot off the left, we need another left footed attacker off the right. Get Bakayoko for 30m and be done with it.

If we get him I wonder what dragusin agent will say about his clients next potential next club. Real madrid or Barcelona perhaps. So far in what I've seen we got done by Arthur daley.

Isn't Dragusin now injured?

Though Tomori is predominantly a RCB he can play LEB, we need strength in depth so Dragusin (at his age) is one player that i'd keep and develop.

Four centre backs and a fill in with Davies and or Gray.

Enough depth there.

I loved Klinsmann at Tottenham and one of my favourite players. But he saw the light after a season then went to bayern. Granted he came back to help us. But to get amongst the real top elite we need to be serious and consistent. Downturn was sacking poch. Atletico have always stuck with simeone wherever they were but theyre regularly challenging.

a desire to compete.
It's not as easy to reduce to black and white (though "dead last in Europe in wages to turnover ratio" helps), but this really is the central thing.

Villa, Newcastle, United, Chelsea, Liverpool, City, varying levels of stupidity, varying levels of competence, quality, moral rectitude, but an absolute ironclad organizational mission that winning trophies is the reason the club exists.

That has never been the mission here under ENIC and never will be, and the days where anyone in the game could be deceived about that are over.

Being a shit team that good players consider to be shit is not a cause for celebration.

Weird that people would think we’re a catch for any prospect. Yeah young players have played but in a terrible situation and they look dead on their feet. It’s probably not good for them. Players want stability, not relegation scraps playing out of position with senior players who are unarsed.

I imagine agents/players/whoever are really not convinced by our little Ange experiment. They probably ask ‘who?’ when they find out who coaches us.

No one should go mad at Tel's decision. And he is young so zero guarantee.

Query the strategy but I would rather us rejected by a bloke who ain't committed than one who wants to be here.

We move on. Win one game and we are off.

I still have Hatem Ben Afra and Adel Taarabt in mind when I see Cherky. Both had amazing skill...but lacked the discipline to develop it and be consistent.

Taarabt was another one.

I get that and could even end up being worse than ndombele. But his ceiling as a lazy, skilled baller could be Hazard-esque for a modern day comparison. The thing is, for only 20m, in this day and age, I think its well worth the punt. Not a club record signing like ndombele.
Can you press with him in the team?

20m is a lot of money for a guy you can only use against very specific teams.

btw, we sign Cherki I'm over the moon. He's all the things I wish football still was. He's the reason Gazza makes you fall in love with football, he's the 90's and even early 2000's before data started taking over. I'm just not sure he can play in the PL.
I think so with the right players around him. A proper mid field set up could do it if he's starting, and if chucked on to chase a game, he'll only have to press for 20-25 minutes along with generally having more possession. I think spence's athleticism and speed could also negate his lack.

we are 15th in the league with an owner that prioritises other things and a manager thats beyond shit. What exactly did people expect?

Saying that, we need proven players for the wide positions and Tel seemed like an expensive project. Don't move on to Dibling now please ffs.
We are getting exactly what Levy has so diligently sown. Get a toy town manager with zero top level credibility, burnish your own reputation as a cut throat negotiator, throw in not one really high end coach, change medical departments mid season. And the result is we have been rumbled as complete time wasters. We better hope all of these kids Ajayi Olusesi Moore Lankshear turn out to be top top players, because it's going to get worse. No one wants in on this under this owner and manager.

The one good thing is did we need yet another player that plays mainly off the left? We need a right wing option. If we get Dibling and Tomori on a loan with an option then given our current situation we've done ok. The fact we're in this situation and we've been allowed to rot is totally on the board.
