Doesn’t seem like Ange ever really thought he could be particularly useful. That comment reads like sarcasm, but even if somehow interpreted as genuine sentiment, it’s hardly any sort of signal of confidence in a player.

Without knowing why he didn’t get picked, its a lazy unfair assumption to make. At the risk of repeating myself without knowing why he didn’t even get close to the squad then the aspersion is fault lays with djed.
My theory’s it took him a while to recover from conte with Ryan and Ange making a poor fist of managing him after….. costing us a quality RB for one and half seasons

Djed has worked out at Spurs for the first time since he arrived in 2022. It's great news for the player, great news for the team, and great news for the club. Just be happy with it.

Apart from the fact it’s public knowledge Conte had no part in the signing and was in fact a DL signing …. There’s never any suggestion levy has input on team selection
Make of Ange what you want but he’s not part of that carry on as much as conte or Jose before him

It's not just the 3 Spurs managers tho mate. It was the Middlesborough manager who sent him on loan to Forest where he first exploded, it was the Rennes manager who only played him 8 times, Leeds and Farke where he played just 7 before being returned, and the Genoa manager who played him 16 times but failed to encourage his club enough to pick up an option for 8.5m... How cheap does that look now?
In reality, there has only been Steve Cooper at Forest and now Ange who have seen the best of Djed Spence. In that light, it's clearly Djed's decision to play at this level and not the manager's. We have no idea why it didn't click with those other coaches and why it has clicked for Ange and Cooper, so we may as well just enjoy it for the player and the club. Everyone adding their own agenda to explain the reasons is just really fucking annoying to read.
Yeah that’s all valid stuff mate …, it lends towards DJed being the common denominator as to possible reasons he doesn’t get picked
However even with all the added data…it stilll stands that whilst it’s the majority that failed to motivate DS we can reasonably assume those that did were better man managers in the case DJed Spence.
I can’t speak to other clubs squad situations but we have been crying out for class FBs for far too many seasons
And for 3 of those we had one right under our noses
To not identify and not realise the immense reward of succeeding in managing that situation is a failure.
We all know Conte didn’t care for that … he wanted the ultra focused ready made professional he could coach
But a manager who believes it’s a strong part of his make up has missed a trick and materialised into dropped points …. Referring to the weekly debacle at LB
bit disappointed mason didn’t show any interest… you’d have thought that could’ve been a good lesson for him
You feel a Harry redknapp would’ve got Spence sorted from the off
The fact that Ange has seemingly got the best out of him where other managers failed, he should be praised for
