Ange said it would be a major turnaround for Djed to play regularly. He was totally wrong about that.

You're wasting your time these people are too dumb to see where the problem lies. Djed Spence is what he has always been. Circumstances just meant it could no longer be kept secret. He'll be at Spurs longer than Postecoglou. Attitude, I'd trust Spence to manage the side better than the man baby he had to drag away from his own supporters

Spence Immense
This guy can defend, that much is certain. It is even more crucial for a team whose RB is Porro. Add to that his ability to cover ground and his technique, and you get the whole package. There's no major weakness of him waiting to be unearthed that had been keeping him away for so long.
Managers love their status quo, some more than others. They assume that change has an inherently destabilizing effect, so when they contemplate making one they also take this into account. If Ange in particular thought that Spence was not THAT much better than Udogie, then he probably saw no issue with continuing to pick the latter despite the former having a good case as well.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him get an international call-up. Being able to play LB and RB is incredibly useful for tournament football.
He ain't bad at CB, either.

Sounds like there were question marks over work ethic (which was suspected) and he’s worked hard to get past that.
