If he stays at Bayern or signs for a European club fair enough. But if he gets his PL experience with us then finishes up signing for a PL rival in the summer that's highly unpalatable.

TBF having an option just means we would've agreed a fee with Bayern. The player would still have the choice so it doesn't make a huge difference.

Hopefully he comes in, makes a difference to our current season, and wants to stay. There's probably a deal to be done then.

BTW it's nice that we're getting on and not slagging fuck out of each other. Appreciated.
