I thought we started alright yesterday but as usual we concede from a brainfart and then give away a pen that we would never be given ti us, I think Ages hands are tied a bit with the players fit and the amount of games we have and I'm sure he would do better with a bigger fit squad, however there is also a very high chance this is his limit and for that I'm willing to give someone else reigns next season.
I kinda feel , or hope even that where we are now is the lowest point, its only up from here , lets get a premier league proven manager and add a few experienced players into the mix and this team could mature into something special!
Agree with this, it was a perfect storm last night of everything against us.
-Away against the best team in the world right now who were fully fit and able to bring on macallister, diaz and jota, having also had an extra days rest over us
- our entire back 5 out injured, not able to play a 10, 2 wingers who are completely shattered and can barely run now, having to start 2 new players, losing our striker early and having to play our 3rd choice who has just joined the club. No options on the bench to change things, not able to start bergvall after what happened in the first leg. The players just absolutely shattered who can play.
But I do think Ange got it completely wrong personally, you cannot set up a team like that, with zero creativity in midfield, two players in biss and sarr who cannot play together and cannot pass round a press to spring a counter. (sarr turned and stopped every single time we broke). If you plan to defend you have to have pace on the counter, we set up with kulu trying to run in behind which is never going to work, richie did so well to hold up the ball and looked up and he had no runners and no 10 helping him. We also are a small team so also had no set piece threat, so he set up a team that had zero ability to score a goal meaning we were hoping to hold a 1-0 lead which is never going to happen with those in the back 5.
I think ange is the wrong man for the job and he bottled last night, but objectively speaking we were hamstrung from the start in that game. I am all in on Europa, its our best chance and I will judge Ange more fully when we actually have players back to be honest.
Biss needs selling as a priority.
