Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I remember last year the argument was always that because we weren’t in Europe and we got knocked out of both domestic cups early, we weren’t playing enough games to get into a rhythm.

This year, the argument has been that we’ve been playing too many games so we’re suffering with fatigue and injuries.

There just always seems to be some sort of excuse. Lots of other teams seem to manage fine, why can’t we?
I think it’s because the squad actually only ever had about 10 players who were actual experienced adults. It was a con job.

25 man squad with 5 keepers means that’s 20 outfield players, one of which is Regulion who must have shat in Ange’s shoes for a joke.

So 19 pros across a 50 + game season was always going to be a bit of a challenge.

Throw in tactical inflexibility and loss of form and injuries and you are fooked.

I tell you if nothing else its been a real eye opener on the cult of personality. Have a ton of confidence, be all jocular and matey, talk a great game and some people will follow you to the ends of the earth even when all the evidence points to an obvious con job. Scary.
Tbh I don’t really think this is the case. I don’t think any fans are backing him because of his personality which, frankly, isn’t even all that.

I believe some fans are still (somewhat) backing him because they are sick to death of new managers, new projects, new era’s, new dawns, whatever bullshit buzzword you want to call it and are just trying to cling to anything that could resemble stability and an actual long term plan. Fans are also rightly finally starting to see that it’s not all the coaches fault, and that the reason we are in such a chaotic mess is Daniel Levy and the board.

For what it’s worth, I think Ange probably should go now. We’re in too much of a rut, it’s becoming too Toxic and untenable, and Mason would probably steady the ship enough to allow us to sneak into the top half if we get some players back etc.
But in the longer term, any fan that thinks that getting rid of Ange and getting in someone like Iraola will change things is having a laugh. This squad is an imbalanced clusterfuck filled with deadwood, ageing players and whilst there’s a few promising young players, it will require outrageously expensive surgery to make us a genuinely competitive team again.

Ange in. Ange out. Doesn’t matter a fuck in the long term - whilst those parasites remain at the top we are going to remain very much stuck in the mud as a football club.

have you seen the green shoots they have at Bournemouth?

Just a thought...perhaps it's not the excuses or our performances that's the problem. Could it be our poor choice and execution of these excuses...? :sonhmm:

So the players are giving 100% but the quality isn't there? Ohh big shock there

Think that's what happens when you spend lest on transfer fee's and wages...
So now you’re saying the individual parts aren’t good enough which is certainly valid.

But nevertheless a manager’s primary remit is to make the whole team greater than (or at least equal to) the sum of its parts. Our 1st choice midfield can surely perform better than it has in the last 180 minutes of football. It doesn’t augur well for when we get more 1st choice players back.

This has to fucking end tonight.

Levy is taking the absolute piss out of this fan base.

Spurs under Ange are a joke.

How the fuck Pedro Porro is getting a game anywhere near the defence is beyond me.

Porro is so fucking shit at defending it's unbelievable.

Pep deserves a cut of the 40 million the miser paid for the twat.

He got 80% of the Walker money back and sold Spurs this clown.

“Project” seems such a levy ism when it comes to football. A project has a start and end date with a clear objective. No such thing exists with Spurs.

Football’s only project is to win the next game. That’s it, I think. 🤔

Consider the thousands of clubs at every level of British football, from the parks to the senior professionals, every single one of them want to win the next game. Except one, Levy’s club who he wants to project manage us into oblivion.

It’s insanity.

Winning is all that ever has counted.

And winning football is entertaining football before any of us get into the delusional position of thinking you need a rabona every other game or it’s all shit. It really isn’t like that.

Some of the best games ever had tactical nous and commitment and very little flair. That is competitive sport.

Imo Porro should play wide right atm and nowhere near RB. Spence to RB, Regulon LB is the best option right now.

Everyone needs to relax. Watch the superbowl. Sleep it off. 7 days till our next game and then another 7 day break before Ipswich. The team need this rest. I think we'll be a totally different team after this rest.

In Ange we trust!

Wise words.

I think we're all agreed that the club should think twice about triggering Ange's two year extension.

Nothing wrong with being cautious in these circumstances :D
