šŸ—£ļøā€I guess with Micky, we decided to take a different strategy with him. We just want to make sure he’s absolutely right...talking to different people, he’s working with different medical teams and rehab staff to make sure he’s right. He’s working well and feeling good, which is a positive.ā€

Hmmmm. Soo sad it’s taken soo long to get specialist second (or 3rd/4th/5th) opinions and recovery advice.

Definitely says we have decided their long term fitness is more important than short term league results.

Romero is another weird one. Why is he having another scan when he returned to training before VDV? Who is requesting that scan? The player? Or our medical department?
Yup. Basically the club letting us know that we are prioritizing the Europa League. They'll have them all back for the 6th of March and taking no risks in the meantime

Does anyone know what type of running causes calf injuries?

Maybe they’ve been doing skipping practice in training or hopscotch? And that’s what is causing all these bloody calf injuries

Oh no, of course.
Nothing causes injuries. Certainly not super intense workload.
It is all just luck. Regarding everything.

I'm pretty sure in your simpleton-village it is also luck that makes successful heart surgeries.
20 years of heavy learning does not play part. Because you don't understand the exact mechanics.

So again, everything in this world only based on luck (for idiots) :D !

I really can't see us losing and then we're stuck with him until god knows when...it's a 2 edged sword of damocles...

not sure if there's any united player that i'd want out sick, they all suck in their own unique ways. Maguire is a threat on set plays i guess but then he's an absolute buffoon in defence , massive bozo gene
Garnacho has pace and trickey, but is about as effective as Timo Werner
Zerkzee is about as bland a create a character as you can get. Like one of those players you started with on Pro Evo master league. 50 stat in every column
Bruno some times talented , but mostly a lazy bastard with zero fight who makes Son look like Captain America
Rasmus Janssen
washed up Eriksen
The clown in goal
Manuel Ugattobekiddingme
Manioo young overrated and being played as number10 ..

I suppose Amad...gosh they put together a horrible squad

Sounds like Maddison will start as well.

Interesting he said Richy, Maddison and Brennan were all calf injuries…,

Accelerating. That's what makes them 'ping'. Had more than my fair share. Always when changing direction, or getting up to speed. Sickening, feels like a rubber band going pop.

That, or being a spurs player. High co-morbidity.

Have Van de Ven and Romero suffered setbacks or are you just being cautious with them?

It is not either. With Micky we made a decision, and I was certainly the catalyst of that, to just have a look at exactly beyond the injury how we can get him back in a good spot. He is doing some different things and working with some different people it’s not as much about the injury as about the mechanics of him because we want him back and we want him back in a real good space. He is training and feels really good. We are still confident his return is imminent but we want to make sure we get it right.

With Romero it has been a healing issue. The injury hadn’t healed up as quickly as we thought it would which, again, we could have pushed him and risked it but we have waited to give him a bit more time. We will get some clear indication as to his healing and depending on that his return could be imminent as well.

Can you be more specific with Romero and Van de Ven?

No, mate because I am not a doctor and also as I keep saying, there is a barrier you can’t cross when you are talking about people whether that is injuries or medically. Unless you want to call me a liar, what I am saying is both of them are training. There is evidence of that if you want that. Both of them are in a good place in terms of their recovery. Different reasons we’ve held both back and again once they are right, they’ll be in

I'm not calling you a liar, but from the outside, it looks like all or nothing for Europa League, are you saving them for that?

No and we’re not all or nothing on anything. We still want to progress in the league. We’re not happy with the position we’re in. There are still significant games. It’s not like there is a few games to go. There is still a lot of football to be played in the league and we want to address our league position and finish the season strong. Alongside that obviously the Europa League now is a great focus for us with us being out of the other cups, but we’re not saving anyone for anything because ultimately what I want is both Micky and Romero have had disrupted seasons in that they’ve got injured, come back and got injured again and I don’t want the same scenario.

You know whilst it may look with Micky like we had a false start with the Elfsborg thing, I think it gave us an indication of where he is at. We could have pushed on absolutely and we could have pushed on with Romero, but my view is let’s get them back and get them back right until the end of the season so we give them a chance as well to make a contribution to hopefully a strong finish for us

So now you are expert in heart surgeries as well?

What are you doing on this forum? You should be out there consulting. Your opinions must be worth thousands.

He's horrible in the pressers and the Journos have him on toast now. The BS is wearing very thin. Needs a string of wins nothing else will do.

Stop flattering him.

Romero is pathetic liability. Based on this season performances and everyone fit, he is like 5th choice CB.
Gray literally MILES ahead of him without even question.

Look I love Gray and he’s given everything he’s got but if you actually analyse his defending it has been quite bad. He is unsure when to play offside, goes wandering, misreads crosses and gets his clearances wrong, all things that you’d expect from a kid midfielder playing at CB.

He’s been better on the ball than Romero who has played like an absolute sloth in possession this season, but can’t really agree that he’s defended better. Romero has been shite but still better than Gray and Dragusin defensively.

Annoyingly I think many are right, Romero is eyeing up the international break as his return. Argentine's are massively country over club, feigning injury before breaks and tournaments.
