Gray was definitely not poor today.
He’s no sick note that’s for sure.
First half he got done by Delap.
First 10 mins he had an issue with Delap.
Sorted it out after that and dominated him for the rest of the game. Delap resorted to taking cheap shots and snidey digs out of frustration.
Good signing. Hardworking no nonsense defender with good attitude, football intelligence and proper levels of concentration [touch wood] he doesn't seem to be prone to making dumb errors resulting in goals. Sort of guy teammates will love to play with. Makes a change teams need to actually create something to score against us rather than we just gift them goals as was the case with numerous CBs in recent years.
I did notice a few assaults by Delap.
Certainly looks far more reliable. Romero is a car crash waiting to happen.

Delap is a must for us in the summer. I like how he always makes contact with defenders. Gray stood up to that magnificently. The first 10 mins were tough for him but fought well all game after that. It was a good battle to be fair to them.

This lad comes in when we buy Dragusin I think we'd be having a very different season. He doesn't just look hard (Romero) he actually is hard. Clear headed basics first sound technique and can pass adequately. We need another possibly left sided player in this exact mould.
A good signing and very good cover for Romero.
Still think against the very top teams with a good press he will struggle but a very solid option for rotation.

I don't see him as that inferior to Romero if at all . A solid reliable defender , something that Romero doesn't always fulfill .
