I'm hoping we win this one , last season their supporters were singing "Tottenham get battered everywhere they go" . As much as it's true I would love to shove it down their throats if we win . I'm hearing Romero is injured , but can't find any confirmation anywhere . COYS

With the international break coming up, I would go full strength with this match. I don't mind Tel coming on for Son later in the game, ditto with Johnson and Odobert. Again start with Spence LB, if he tires later bring on Udogie. He might play Gray instead of Porro, or like the others make the substitution later.

He's going to have to rotate more when the international break is over and we're starting off with two games per week for a while. I think he will focus more on EL.

I would start Tel for Son because Son isn’t full strength himself after a Thursday game.

Spence looks a little tired to me as well.

At CB I’d definitely start full strength and CM too.

Also a fair shout.

Let’s face it though, Johnson didn’t do much with his last start either. And I’m someone who defends his contributions.
He's got 9 goals and two assists AFAIK, and he's familiar with the system and team mates, Tel is still finding his feet, he can try and do that from the bench in my view.

Those sort of players though may be better in a different system next season with a new manager. We've had four windows and still only have Odobert as a proper winger, the odd thing is that Postegoclou has been pleased with those two signings (Johnson and Tel).

Tel was signed to play CF but also cover out wide. He is a very similar profile to a young Kolo-Muani or young Isak. Obviously not the same level yet.

I can see why Ange is happy with Johnson, he does what he was signed to do. It’s a disconnect in the fans that expected him to be a 1v1 winger type.

I can't understand the notion that we want wide players like Johnson and Son who can't beat their man in those wide positions and put in decent crosses, or neat passes into the danger zone.

It's square pegs in round holes.

You need players that get on the end of decent crosses and neat passses into the danger zone and it can’t just be a single striker either.

If you find players who can do both they are usually not players that Spurs can sign. Looks like we might have snagged one in Odobert, maybe Tel as well who is meant to be handy 1v1 and crossing as well.

Need to use the next 3 league games to get everyone up to 100% fitness and playing with confidence. I’d like Ange to have a selection issue when we get to Frankfurt and for players to be vying for the privilege to play in every Europa League game

Makes no sense with the PL season now almost a dead rubber. Now is the time to get the youth we trust in their right roles, move Son to back up and only give Biss enough minutes for the shop window
I agree but I'd go full strength tomorrow as it's the international break next and it would be good for confidence to go into that break with a win.

We may as well use the rest of the PL matches as a sort early preseason. give Scarlett, Moore , Donley et al a few games, if we get knocked out of Europa we may as well play Gray. Bergvall and Donely in MF for the rest of the season.

Can see where you’re coming from. Thing is might Gray at CDM actually turn out to be “full strength”? Shame he was only there for 5 minutes on Thursday so couldn’t really tell.

Here's an idea, if we can't get those type of wingers, hire a manager that has a system of play that doesn't require them.

Yes it may well be full strength with Gray (and Bergvall) in MF, but if we can get them really clicking together it bodes well for next season. it would give Donley a chance to show what he can do.

Basically let's just use the remaining PL games to try out youth team members in the first team, and/or give Bergvall and Gray playing time together, then we can better asses what we need in the transfer window.

Every system needs those type of players
I don't think that was the case with Conte or Mourinho, we played more through the middle using counter attacks, we didn't need players like Odobert then, we were more direct and Johnson would have fitted those teams better, in a sort of Lucas Moura role, though I don't think he's as good as Moura who could also dribble and beat his man as part of this attributes sometimes.
