Iraola looks like he's said he's interested just got a feeling don't think he is the one for the job but who is. At the point in life where I have seen the so called beat managers come and go and fail. Maybe give Scott Parker a go it's couldn't be any worse than this season.

I'm curious at what Kieran McKenna could do with our squad. The Ipswich squad isn't good enough for the Premier League that's clear. But back to back promotions with Ipswich is impressive.

He would definitely be a more exciting signing than Iraola, Frank and Silva. But also a riskier one.

Her gets my vote.

Edit: He gets my vote. (Got to work on my pronouns)

Who could we get now that could actually be a long term option? I didn’t realize there’s so much time until the next Europa round which means too long for Ange at this point. I at one point felt like he still probably gave us the best chance at Europa just because of players coming back healthy, still seeming to be playing for him, etc. but I feel less that way now. If we actually got someone in now we’d have some time before our next Europa games.

Xavi checks this box for me. But who knows if we could get him at this point. Terzic I guess and he’s shown to be a better tournament manager but he’s underwhelming overall for me. Allegri I guess but he feels like another 180/reset.

Russel Martin would be the cheap option

Tottenham could turn to shock candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou

TEAMtalk have now claimed that the Spurs hierarchy are yet to make a final decision on Postecoglou’s future, and they accept that he has been dealt a tough hand due to injuries.

However, with many of the injured players now available, he is expected to deliver, and it is revealed that winning the Europa League would ‘significantly enhance’ the Australian’s chances of staying in charge next season.

The report claims that the club have already begun looking for potential options to replace Postecoglou, and apart from the likes of Andoni Iraola and Edin Terzic, they have also set their sights on an English manager.

It is asserted that Russel Martin, who was sacked by Southampton back in December, has emerged as a shock candidate to take over at N17.

Even though the Saints picked up just five points in 19 Premier League games under Martin this season, the 39-year-old is said to have admirers at Tottenham.

Why do Spurs like Russel Martin?

It is revealed that while Marin is seen as a ‘risky pick’ by Spurs, he remains one of the most highly rated English managers in the game.

The outlet explains that while his possession-based style might have backfired at Southampton, there is a feeling that his system will work if he has better players at his disposal.

Martin is said to be open to taking a new Premier League challenge in the summer, and TEAMtalk say that he could be ‘a surprising name to watch in the summer’ during Tottenham’s potential managerial hunt.

We finished 5th without Solanke.

We aren't as far away as it looks this season. We do need 2 fully elite-level players in the summer though. 1 forward and 1 CM. Get those transfers right and get the coaching staff right and people will be surprised how much better we will look than we do right now.

Probably playing once a week next year too.
I think you’re overgassing our players, as most of our fans tend to do. There’s leadership issues here, there’s physicality issues, we’ve been outmuscled in PL games for years now. I don’t see a regular goal scorer in the squad anywhere. This is a building job. And developing these teenagers to consistency will take time.

I'd be interested in him running our academy team or a number 2 for our new first team coach in summer. But as first team coach I'd rather have frank de Boer.😊

I think you are underestimating the potential of this squad. Which is completely understandable given our current league form.

We need leaders and consistency. A couple of transfers and you’d be surprised where we can be. Who predicted Forest in the Top 4?

I'll never get why some people are so concerned about this or that candidate turning out not to be "the one" if/when he gets the job. We're not going to get married to the guy, and barring a few unicorns such as Guardiola and Klopp no manager is the one at the moment anyway. Nor should he be for an appointment to constitute success. As long as we're willing to move on quickly and decisively from managers who were never good enough to begin with a la Nuno, and/or those who way overstayed their welcome a la Ange, appointing the wrong guy shouldn't be a terrifying eventuality.

This is not a plea for picking a name from a hat, but the initial decision to hire a certain manager is arguably less important than the decisions that follow it. Even hiring Ange, as baffling as it was, wouldn't have been nearly as damaging if his tenure wasn't allowed to drag on for this long.

Just don't give managers unending contracts with outrageous clauses, and you should be fine no matter what.

And who predicted that us and Utd would be bottom half of the table ?

So what's your point ?

Some of this squad is dross.

You just proved exactly my point. Football isn’t always predictable and as bad as this season has been, we should probably be still in that 4-8th range with this squad if everyone is fit.

Move on some that aren’t up to it, bring in 2 quality players and things look very different.

That sounds like hope! I admire you maybe I'll be there after the Summer window :)

I don't mind getting Jose back either honestly. If we can't get any of these managers to come. I think he can win us a few cups if Levy backs him. He won with every club except us before heading to Turkey. I think he will have something to prove/chip on shoulder.
there's a reason he's managing in Turkey....

blimey

I'd say Iraola would be interested.

There's vultures already surrounding Kerkez, Semenyo, Huijsen etc etc

they'll find it hard to hold onto their best players.
