Huijsen is not Romero level yet. He’s also pretty slow.
I'm probably the only one happy about it now, but I love our current mix of young CBs. With Vuskovic and Phillips coming on board I'm not sure why people are too worried at all. They could be ready to start for us as soon as 26-27, which is only one season away. I don't feel like we need to worry about buying more CBs right now- just use the ones we have and we are GOOD. Ben Davies can even be our backup LCB for 2 more seasons if needed.
If we keep Romero, 100% with you, our CB situation is the best I can remember it for depth in a while next season.

This season Gray (a 18 yo midfielder, first season in EPL) has been superior to Romero.
And Huijsen been three if not four heads above Romero. Totally different class. Like comparing prime Pique to Vlad Chiriches

Philips never really impresses when I’ve seen him . Just cos he’s young doesn’t mean he’s good. Especially in a position like centre back where experience is important . We really don’t know about Vuskovic.he will get a chance in pre season. Hope he is as good as he looks.
My fear for Vuskovic is that he will not get enough minutes in the next two seasons as the club will be reluctant to loan him out (he can qualify as club trained), and he will not be ready for the first team for another 2 years. There is the ‘Saliba’ loophole, but that did not workout for Sarr when we loaned him out.
Opta rank the Belgian league above the Championship. If he was doing what he’s doing in the Championship, I think we’d all be expecting him to step straight into the PL.
Honestly think he will get games next season as he adjusts and then lock in as a starter the year after.

If I understand it right, the Saliba loophole didn't work for Sarr because Sarr is from Senegal and thus has a Senegalese passport. Saliba could slink through as registered at both Woolwich and whichever club in France that he was loaned to because of his French passport. It is some sort of Europe vs not Europe loophole.
So on paper that should work for Luka, assuming that the EU/UEFA hasn't rectified the loophole since.
