Match Yep, another match with little effort or joy to watch. Saints, home, 6th April, 2pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Possibly, but you’d expect there to still be glimpses of what he could do, and I really can’t recall anything noteworthy.

Even at £30m I reckon there would probably still be better players ready to make the step up from the championship.

I suspect you're right.... What I am sure about though is that, if we don't sign him, he'll go on to be a star.

...Cos #Spurs.

That's the problem with this fanbase. 'Dr Tottenham' this and 'Spursy' that whenever an opportunity comes along to join in with rival fans' mocking.

But when we get the chance to promote ourselves as the Premier League's assassins in killing another club's top flight status (I.e relegating yet another club), we're all standing hands on hips shaking our heads complaining over who should be taking bloody penalties.

Anybody ?

Answers on a postcard , please

Well , I suppose a win is a win , which is always nice

BUT

Does that fill me with a lot of confidence for Thursday ? Bloody hell no .

We will have to improve massively , the defending for their goal was like something you see on a Sunday morning

Thank fuck the Saints are shit but we made even them look half decent in the second half , very very worrying

They couldn't know it was the last kick. If Brennan takes it, keeper saves, they break and score there would be murders. The designated penalty taker should take penalties.
This is tinfoil hat territory for a penalty 6 minutes deep in stoppage.

Johnson has converted 11/15 penalties in his career.

Tel has bagged 6/6, but until today had never taken a penalty in a competitive senior football match (all U-level internationals and 1 friendly)

Personally I've always thought that it should be a rule that the player earning the penalty takes the penalty, same as free throws in basketball. Irrational that you get a penalty for denying Ben Davies a goal scoring opportunity and then have to face a Harry Kane 1v1 from the spot.

And it would clear up all this bollocks over who should take the penalty. Unless a player is injured, and then he has to go off, the penalty is awarded to the player who was fouled (or played the ball that was handled) - not generically to the team.
