Forest in 3rd and the latter stages of the FA Cup.

They were worse than us last year and I’d still take our squad over theirs this year.

I don’t care how old you are, it doesn’t make something true just because you’ve been saying it a long time.

The biggest issue we have is Levy and ENIC, the squad is nowhere near as bad as it looks ATM

If the squad is not the oroblem; then the manager is to blame for the shit season.

I think a lot of fans have overlooked how the injury crisis and the really bad run of results in Dec/Jan has affected the form of the first team squad. It's been a long time since we had nothing to play for domestically in February. Probably have to go back before Martin Jol's reign. We have a decent squad, not perfect but decent. We do need a new manager. I think the players respect Ange as a person and are still trying for him, but I think the senior one's especially do not believe in the system they are being asked to play, and it shows.

If we have no mid-week football next season I think we will be very attractive to a new manager as we have 14-15 very good players and would only need a couple more to give us a decent shot at challenging for domestic success next season. owever, important that we add proper leaders for the spine of the team. No more leading by example, no more nice guys. Son / Maddison etc. are not leaders. Senior players yes. Leaders no.

This gets posted every time we sack a manager, it's become a bad cliche
Because we as a club seem to make it an arduous task, fans have gotten the impression it's impossible, yet other clubs manage it all the time without much fuss.

There are I'm sure, hundreds of managers of a decent enough standard that would jump at the opportunity. I think sometimes as a club (and I'm including us fans here) we are a little too big for our boots in ruling out candidates, pickier than we really have a right to be.

The good thing now is, the bar is so low after Ange, even this club can't outdo themselves and find someone worse.

Maddison.

Solanke.

Romero.

Toby.

I could go on..... You'll move the goalposts tho.

There was an element of punt with all of them.

The lower the wages you pay, the higher the risk you have to tolerate when signing a player.

If the market is more sure about the player then they will get bigger wage offers.

What we try to do is beat the market and sign players who can be top players without paying top wages. As a result, we are always taking a punt to some degree.

Depends on what your goal is.

This squad is definitely good enough to finish 5-8th if we don’t have European football.

The fact that we haven’t is on the manager imo,

If the target is to compete for multiple trophies and hopefully win one of them then the squad is miles off it right now because we decided to gamble on building the depth with young players on low wages.
