Whilst Deki is creative and can unlock a defence in the final third, he is not someone who helps control the ball with his passing. If anything, we lose the ball a lot more in the middle third as he is does not play simple passes, and instead looks to roll or turn players when not always appropriate.

You're judging him solely on their sorry exit to Woolwich. The fact he's now got the same issue PSG had, where he's got 3 selfish stars up front (I'm not talking about Rodrygo), is what's lead to their shite season. Also lost one of the best CM of all-time in Kroos, while Modric is a year older. His defense has been decimated by injuries.
