Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The sad this about this post is it's accuracy. Whilst every club is over 60% on wages to revenue and some are over 80% ... the ninth richest club in world football are hovering around 40%... I hate it when people say Levy spends big on fees. He does but that's only half the equation. I'd rather he spent less on fees and note on wages... take Solanke. 60m + 23m on wages over 5 years. 83m investment with little return. Then look at Osimhen. Napoli are willing to let him go for 40m this summer to get his wages of their books. He is currently on 256k per week so signing him for that money over 4 years would be a 53m investment plus transfer fee of 40m and you're looking at a total investment of 93m. 10m more than Solanke who I'm not slating here but I know which one I'd rather have.

We have a habit of doing things on the cheap and end up spending more

I don't know what's going on behind the scene but from living in parts of Asia I know that the SE/FE Asian way of being a leader is different than in Europe: they seldom shout and scream and assert themselves aggressively but instead lead by example, often in a more silent way (I am not saying they do not show aggression at times).
So what you are saying is that you have faith in Son being a good leader?

I like him a lot and wouldn't mind having him on our team, however, I think it's an either/or with Tel- we wouldn't have room in the squad for both. We really need to focus on Moore as a #2 LW, 5th overall winger this next season:

LW: Tel, Moore, Richy, Maddison
RW: Odo, Johnson, Kulu

Delap is miles better than Tel, he has consistently caused problems for PL defences. Tel has done virtually nothing.

I would have been more impressed if, say, Real M,, Bayern, Liverpool, PSG was after Cardoso...but Man Utd's scouts haven't exactly covered themselves in glory over the past few seasons...

R Betis are in the ECL semi finals. Along with league games they have 7 or 8 games to play in May.
Might be worthwhile watching him in a couple.

Brutal hijack that send us about 30m? Headline writers don't understand the deal we made on this one

We miss leaders. I don't think Son, Romero or Maddison is the type of leaders we need. Honestly I'm not sure they are leaders at all.

I like the idea of a tough DM as captain and leader, so right now, I'm putting my hopes towards Cardoso being the type of person that can be a leader. He won't be captain this coming season (as a new player) so I'm not sure who I prefer. Kulusevski maybe.
You got to be joking, Kulusevski, the same medicore player who plays well for 6 weeks then disappears for months in end, the same player who loses the ball but does nothing to try retrieve it , the same clown who lost the ball at the edge of pools box today and jogged back like he hadn't a care in the world and they knocked in their fourth goal.
Leaders lead by example and he ain't setting it, see the likes of Roy Keane or Bryan Robson who would die for their teams and deal with those who would not, Kulu simply does not have these qualities and it's hard to see who has in this group.

If you have to pick one in this group that's here (probably) next season. Who would you pick?

On another note. Göykeres scored his 7th hattrick of the season yesterday. Now he's scored 52 goals, all competitions this season. Also there was some press, here in Sweden last week (I think). That sporting has lowered his buy out clause to about €70M.
