Unless ENIC put some of their own money in.

I don't have a clue what's going to happen if we do win the EL this month, and qualify for next season's CL because with our current squad we're going to get pummelled.
1. Collect the participation money for the league phase.
2. Drop out after it.
3. Focus on the domestic league to try and make it back into Europe for the next season.

Probably.

1. Who will the manager be?
Genuinely worried the answer could be...Ange Postecoglou...even if we don't win the Europa League. The bald cunt in the boardroom will tell us he's earned it after finishing 5th last season, two semis this year...yeah awful PL campaign but all down to injuries etc etc.

My assumption is we will have a new manager and no European football. After all the noise about going back the club's DNA, the next manager will be someone who plays possession based, front foot football, and is good at developing youth players (and can work to a budget).
It won't be a footballing decision, well that won't be the key thing behind the decision. As with players, it'll be about the finances first & foremost.

I am also assuming we will sell some of the more senior players like Romero (£50m), Bentancur (£25m), Bissouma (£25m) , Richarlison (£30m) etc.
So Bentancur is worth the same as Biss and 5mil less than Richy?! Good thing you ain't his agent or work for the club.

Vicario, Kinsky, Austin, Porro, Spence, Udogie, Danso, Dragusin, VdV, Davies, Vuskovic, Gray, Sarr, Bergvall, Maddison, Donley, Devine, Kulusevski, Johnson, Odobert, Solanke, Son, Moore, Tel(?).

I personally think that is a squad that, with no european football, could finish top 8, but not get anywhere near the top 4 or win a trophy. And that cannot be good enough.
Only way that squad gets a top 8 finish is if we hire a very good manager and a few of them overperform.

He'll end up at Goons imo - exactly what they need. And probably play very well. Two clubs (Brighton and Coventry) also have sell-on clauses attached so 80m is about right imo.

For someone so scrupulous with team expenditure, Levy and team makes some bloody awful decisions on incomings. 20m less and you have Richy (who I like, but not for that money).

That's just disingenous rhetoric.

Richarlison was bought in 2022.

In 2022 Gyokeres was on loan from B&HA in the championship and on no-one's lips as being worthy of the top of the EPL.

The point is clear.

We shop a level below the "elite tier". We will never be in the conversation for Gykores/Isak's of this world.

We will get more of the Richarlison, Johnson's and Solanke's.

Targeting quality over quantity is what we should be doing now in the "new stadium" era.

If they are shit yeah.

Even if they improve us; unless they have us challenging for the title and/or winning stuff, the fanbase will tire of their football very quickly.

You know this as as well as I do (well at least; our time with Nuno, Jose & Conte or even Graham ought to have taught you as much).

But the bar is so low now I think fans will welcome any organised team that actually has an identifiable style of play.

Again.... Now; yes. That won't last long though.

"Anyone is preferable to X" is a hollow sentiment that really means nothing other than "sack the current bloke, but I still want what I want".

It’s becoming a bit of a poisoned chalice. It’s why I’m amazed Poch still wants the job. Maybe it needs someone who is a little unhinged to be our manager.

Levy has been at his usual drip feeding of the media with the we are poor banter, preparing the fans for a barren summer, yet him and Enic continue to rake millions from the club, if anyone believes his crap they need their head examined, don't fall for it.

A new manager is a must, can see it being Silva or his ilk who have to work on a budget and have a history of same, unless we qualify for CL and then anyone is possible.

A new keeper is high on the wish list too, Vic cannot be trusted, Kinsky still a work in progress.

If Romero leaves then he obviously needs to be replaced, would keep him myself.
Davies is done at this level, so another CH is required.

A number 6 has been needed for yrs now and still is required, Cardoso looks the obvious one.

Another attacking midfielder to complement Madison is also needed.

Another striker as well, personally would shove all the chips at Cunha, he is ready and despite Tel looking ok we need someone who is ready and not developing.

Sell Richy, Biss, Davies, also Kulu and Sarr for the right money, Dragusin, probably a next Jan sale, and clear out the young lads we are not going to use, let them go and play somewhere. A new keeper probably means moving Vic on as well.

Son is an interesting one, probably improve under a new manager who doesn't insist he plays with chalk on his boots, but also aging and an impact sub at best, either way unless a whopper bid comes in the Levy keeps him for the money he brings to the club.

Oh not forgetting to extend Werner's loan contract, has been such a success 😇🙄

I don't think it's just a Spurs problem.......

Look at WH and their relationship with Moyes (twice!).

The scum will tire of Arteta pretty soon if they continue being set-piece FC without delivering a big trophy.

It is frustrating when people question a value / opinion without providing their own for comparison. You insinuate that Bentamcur is worth more than £25M. Does it not depend on contract length, age and suitors? Bentancur has 1 year to run on his current deal, no? i think he is worth less than Richy as strikers command bigger fees. Rumour is Everton (with their new Billionaire backers) want to make Richy a statement signing for the first season in their new stadium as he is a cult hero with their fans, and he will score 15 goals a season (which should keep them out of relegation trouble).

1. Levy and ENIC are not raking millions out of the club. Levy takes a Chairmans salary which we can argue wether he's worth it or not... they are however, leveraging the money the club makes to support expansion of the property portfolio increasing the clubs value. That's where Levy and ENIC will be billionaires. When they push their chips in and sell, generations of their families will never have to work again. 40 mil investment now worth 3 bil... I'll let you work out the ROI but it's staggering which is why the shareholders pay him as much as they do. He has made them all super wealthy whilst making us super average.

2. Cunha is a headcase and will be suspended at least 4 if not 6 games a season... plus he will have his pick of bigger clubs than us who actually want to win.

3. Son isn't improving under any managers. He'd be the first out the door if I was in charge.

I get your rationale, but personally I think Bentancur is worth a good 40 mil. He's had his injuries, yes...but still only 27, kid's got pedigree, played 70 games for Boca + 180 for Juve + 110 (and counting) for Spurs. Has played in the CL & Europa. Man's a Uruguay international with 70 caps to his name, has been to the World Cup & Copa America. He's versatile, good with either foot, can run, tackle, pass, head the ball...even score the odd goal. No way Levy lets him go for 25 mil.
